Stop it!!! everyone that thinks this just stop it!!! Coaching is not the problem you could say defensive coord. But coaching is not the problem. It is the palyers. The patriots execute. Garrett is building this team, but he needs to be given the time and patience to fiinish, he is still cleaning out the rif raf that Parcells and Phillips left, the culture those guys Ieft. The depth that people are always complaining that we need on defense well we have it, they are starters, and they getting primed a couple may become starters but if we keep them, they will be the rotational guys need. yeah, the defense is getting hammered but they are being forged into a weapon of destruction, Sean Lee and Hatcher will not let them quit.

People watch this team.
oh for crying out loud this is getting ridiculous.

Minus the fact they play in a very easy division, how is it, that the Patriots, with no receivers and mediocre run game and an alright defense, are 6-2? Brady has been having one of the worst seasons of his career and still pulls out wins.
4 of their wins:

Buffalo by 2
NYJets by 3
Atlanta by 7
New Orleans by 3

You have to give them credit for some ugly wins but at least they are W's.

there's is penty of talent on offense to have an elite offense. the defense is depleted, just like last year and coaching can only do so much with guys off the streets. if Garrett was smart, which I don't think he is, I would make changes on offense because what he has been doing the last 3 years is not working, and more of the same will get him fired.

I dont see it for a variety of reasons.

I would say it is the coaching if we had the same coaches since 96. The players have to make the plays.

Sean Payton was the problem when he was here.
Wade Phillips was too predictable.
Rob Ryan was too unpredictable.

On and on we could go...the posters on this forum who have blamed coaching for all our ills. I'm not saying Red is a great coach, but this perpetually blaming coaches for everything is simplistic nonsense.

Jerry's inability to put the right players on the field is the one constant over the past 20 years...and he repeatedly undermines what coaches are trying to accomplish.

If a new coach gets hired, somehow players will improve. At some point players have to be held accountable.

Your assumption that they aren't *properly* held accountable know is absurd. You have NO IDEA what goes on inside the locker room, on the practice field and at Valley Ranch.

You have NO IDEA. Your whole argument is a straw man built on shallow and faulty conjecture. None of us on this forum can speak to how players are handled. We aren't privy to the information.

Not sure it's only coaching. I think it's a culture. Dez is the first to openly express that he's fed up with it. Twenty years of mediocrity? We've had good enough talent to win since Parcells left and we haven't. It's definitely the culture and it starts at Jerry Jones.

Like Tom Brady, Ray Lewis or Jimmy Johnsons' Cowboys.... whomever the next winning Dallas team is, they'll have prove themselves in the NFL first, then whether they turn out to be Emmitt Smith or Jim Kelly, they can be held accountable.

Garrett does not give us any game day advantages. That is clear as day.

If we didn't have the athletes we would be the worst team ever with him as our coach.

We have an 11-5 team this year and he's going to keep us in the middle of the road.

None of us have an idea! I'm no different from you or any other poster on here. Players not executing plays is as important than a coach not managing. Coaches will always be held to the fire first since they are the lead. Players who can't play can be held accountable as well. They get paid a lot of money to do what they do.

Well, all I can do sometime is smile because something is fundamentally wrong with this team.

Yep.

This

The common denominator is first..

Jerry Jones

And here it comes..

Tony Romo.

I think the saying goes that "the definition of insane is doing the exact same thing everytime and expecting a different result"

Which is what this team does and their fans expect, a different result.

Ain't happening.

This is my biggest beef with Garrett. If pressed how he makes us better or what his coaching strength is, I really couldn't tell you.

The best I can come up with is that he seems meticulous and has done a good job at cutting down our penalty total.

Me too. I sqaid the other day that as a football executive I hate Jerry Jones. Its getting close to that same feeling for Jason Garrett.

Problem with Jerry is that his football ideologies change with the wind, inherently undermining decisions made one, two years down the road. It's bad enough that he makes unnecessary gambles, whiffs on a number of decisions. But his inability to stick with a football ideology, to me, ranks among his greatest faults.

First off not just any good coach will come in here to adhere to the face of the franchise....secondly Garrett has a meager 3 years on 18 in a row.

What on God's green Earth has Garrett done to deserve another 15 years????? You want this franchise to keep playing .500 football for another 15 years?????? All we get from Garrett is .500 football, bad clock management decisions, and playing not to lose instead of playing to win. I want a coach who plays to win, that can actually have a clue when it comes to clock management, and last and most important can motivate his players to get the most out of them.
