Its a team game. No one player is more important than a total team package.

Letting both go was the right call!

Do I miss them? No. Would I like them on this team? Hell yeah!!! Can you imagine those two on this defense right now?!

There contracts were not the only thing we needed to move on from....we needed new leadership in this lockeroom....and anytime you have guys that have been here that long....players would naturally defer to them. There exit provided an opportunity for a different type of leadership to emerge. The last time we played Seattle...they started there "bullying act/routine"...and Ware and Co. played it like they usually do "turn the other cheek...take the high road"...yada yada yada. I was sick of that routine. There were several plays today where our guys were READY to brawl....and I LOVED it. Seattle was like a fish out of water when they got a taste of their own medicine. And then we bludgeon wiht the running game...it was beautiful. Too bad they do not have a legitimate downfield passing game....because Church and Wilcox will try to knock you out!

As one who said there was a leadership void for years, I couldn't agree more.Ware was a great player, and yes, he'd certainly help us now, but he just wasn't an effective leader, no matter how badly many fans wanted him to be.

It's no coincidence that this has gotten defense nastier WITHOUT our all-time leading sack leader.

Did you see that dawg mentality out there today? That was missing for many years with those two players.

I would still like to have hatcher. hatcher and Crawford would be a great tackle combo. melton is starting to play well but he does not stay on the field long enough. maybe as the season goes along he will be able to play more snaps.

That's the DL rotation is why you don't see him on all the plays. But I agree that he may see more snaps as the season progresses, but that that many more, I wouldn't think.

Love effort and attitude on D, but team still needs a legit pass rusher. Even the biggest homers, like me, can see this.

I don't think Hatcher cares. He was looking for a big contract and he would go anywhere for that.
At least Ware made a point of saying he would not going to another NFC east team.

Yeah that's true. Emotionally, I couldn't care less about Hatcher leaving! Ware's release really got to me. He was a true Cowboy! And that was a very classy move by him.

I have always said I would rather have a player that plays their position. Let's add Sean lee to that cause every once in a while he makes a play. But he also hangs his teammates out to dry way to often. This no name defense is where it is at!

Will folks remember this lesson when free agency starts? I'll admit I probably won't.

Performance wise, I can't complain, but Ware has been a mainstay of the cowboys for such a long time. He's gotten us through a lot of dark periods... unfortunately, we couldn't afford him. Hatcher played great in his final year, but he was asking for too much.

I had NO problem with letting either one go and said it at the time. However, I was shouted down by the majority. Meh, things happen.
