Anybody think Hurd has entrenched himself in the top 3?

it's the IGS at work (instant gratification society). just nod and let it go.

Not quite what you arrogantly describe as an instant gratification society. If you re-read the post, its premise was that Hurd has entrenched himself as No. 3. Nothing more, nothing less.
I don't see -- though in your mind it might be possible -- the jump from the premise of Nos. 3 and 4 exchanging positions to anybody calling for instant gratification. The preseason and season unfold so slowly that rarely is anything "instant."

But to get to my wider premise: IMHO you have graduated from putting words into people's mouths to putting concepts into people's mouths.

How someone can make that jump in thinking is beyond me, slushy. I thought you had learned your lesson from some weeks ago when you played fast and loose with people's words and thoughts, but it is grating, iffin you know what ah mean.

I don't mind the likes of you complaining or criticizing, but your dismissive attitude is a bit disturbing.

In the future you might want to hesitate from injecting pithy little comments and maybe state your case in full.
Not some dismissive post that people on both sides of the question have answered, mostly with respect and the spirit of dialogue and fraternity and drinking from the shiny cup of friendship.

I take no umbridge (I learnt that thar word the other week, though I still don't know how to spelt it) to mosquito-like hit and runs on posts that were crafted with discussion in mind. But don't reduce your responses to junior high nana-nana-nader or cute little acrynyms that you make up on the fly.

Please rethink it and see if you can answer with some give-and-take and take time to exchange ideas with your fellow Zoners.
That would be helpful, Slushy, and we so do look forward to your otherwise informative and illuminative ideas and thoughts.
Otherwise just pass it by, friend.

Again, I take no umbridge (I learnt that thar word the other week, though I still don't know how to spelt it) to mosquito-like hit and runs on posts that were crafted with discussion in mind. Not junior high nana-nana-nader or cute little acrynyms that you make up on the fly.

except that last year, crayton was the best #3 WR in the league.

hurd comes along and makes a catch and people tend to forget it. why? cause they saw hurd make a catch.

the same kind crayton makes all the time w/o fanfare now it seems.

the flip to the argument is that if we lose glenn, who's #2?

most would say crayton bumps up to #2 cause he's earned it.

the IGS just saw some flash in hurd and w/o even a year of proving himself, he's suddenly surplanting crayton.

i disagree, completely. that's all.

This entire thread has excellent reasoning against your initial premise, and you choose to respond to that post? Further, you haven't really successfully defended your premise that Crayton might be out.

Don't like tha posts ridiculing your ideas, don't read em, blutto.

Entire thread? I saw ones with a respectful approaches. Some with I don't think that is the case and some that flat out disagreed. But "entire"?
My, methinks you exaggerate for your own bitter purposes.

Now, Crown, you want me to defend opinion?

Sorry bub, that was my opinion and ah aim to stick with it.

Sorry, again, if you take issue with me taking time to ansser a dismissive post, not the angry ones like yours.
If you are so bothered by it, tough.
But before you go, let me thank you for being so lucid (Lucid, I'm home!) and illuminating, despite the exaggeratiion of the "entire" thing.
Yes, illuminating and thoughtful and quite utterly disdainful. But, hey, that is you.

I am kind of worried about that, and a bit puzzled. He's been more of a positive then any of these new guys yet they apparently have more skill than this guy has. If its there it hasn't shown itself on the field.

But to answer your question, no I will keep my sig and name.:starspin

He got the axe today.

There's a better chance that I make the Dallas Cowboys than Patrick Crayton getting cut. Straight up and simple. Odd man out? You are nuts.

Crayton is clearly the better of the two.

This is not based on performance because Crayton has outperformed most #3WR's in the NFL the last couple seasons.

:hammer:

In my honest and foreign opinion, Crayton will stay as our #3 receiver this year, and if Hurd shows that he can be really productive over this regular season, then you have to add the fact that Owens and Glenn will be really on the final years of their careers, then you will start to think if its really convenient to let someone go or keep Crayton and Hurd, what I would really think as convenient and what I would do.

Absolutely!

TO
Crayton
Hurd

I forgot nobody. Those are the top three receivers suited best for what we're trying to do now.
