It seems like it started going south several years ago. There was one game that was so bad the league jumped on the players and threatened to do away with the game.

It is weird seeing NFL players look slower than college players.

Teams and most players wouldn’t want this game played any other way.
An injury now at the end of the season would be devastating to players and the team….free agents or guys coming up on last year in a contract, none of them would show up.

Most of us can remember back in the day when there was hitting, pass rush, tackling, but no blitzing allowed. Guys gave 3 times more effort than today, but they didn’t really play until the fourth quarter. They weren’t all millionaires, and the winning team was paid more than the losers, so when the 4th quarter started, it became more violent and teams cheating with blitzes…..lol.
