If you have a kindergarden mindset then perhaps you think if you say it over and over then people will assume it's true. The sign of the narcissistic mind is that everyone else is quite inferior and unable to discern fact from fiction.

i know BP is trying to implement a base 3-4. but with Fergy nicked up, i think the talent we have along the DL (Ware, Ellis, Glover, Spears, Fergy, Canty, Ratliff, and Pepper) we should stick to the 4-3 defense for now, heck u can put 4 of those preferably Spears, Glover, Fergy, and Ellis up front and still use Ware as one of the OLB's.

If we were at the point of competing for a SB I would agree with you.

But...we need to look beyond this year. For all practical purposes this team is in the midst of a serious retool.

There are going to be a ton of rookies getting starting time on this team. And most of those on the Defensive side (Ware, Canty, Spears) are built for a 3-4 scheme.

IMO we need to run the 3-4 even if we could expect to get better performance this year from a 4-3.

While I would very much like to win now. I am much more interested in rebuilding a sustaining winner like our team of the 90's and Patriots of this decade. Ellis and Glover are getting long in the tooth.

Also, the 3-4 is the best base to build IMO, because big Bill is proving to have a penchant in finding/selecting talent for that specific scheme. And IMO that has been our biggest weakness in the past. Our drafts have been horrendous. How many times did we wiff on 1st round selections on a 4-3 DE ?

You build sustaining champions through consistent drafts. Big Bill knows how to draft for a 3-4. Let's continue down a road that has thus far had a very promising start.
