Anyone else have trouble getting excited about games like this?

I find it very difficult to get excited for a game against a 1-6 Minnesota team, especially after the collapse at the end of the last game. If they had won, I'd be in a better mood about it and look forward to being 6-3 after this weekend. Sitting here at 4-4 though and completely expecting a win, leaves me not looking forward to the game all that much. If they win it's expected, if they lose, then I'll be pissed. Not really a lot of positive to take away from a game like this. I look to the Saints game as the next one that I'll really have a chance to get excited for, to be hopefully see some impressive football that is indicative of where the team is or may be going (if anywhere).

Anyone else feel like this?

i don't know if excited is the word I would use.. anxious, nervous maybe? these cowboys have had the mind boggling propensity to play down to their opponents during the Garrett era, so I'm not as convinced as most that this is a lock to win.

and considering we are only 2 games ahead in the division, every game left on the schedule is crucial imo

This game has trap written all over it. Better not turn the ball over or let AP have a really good day.

always love the team and get excited to watch them...but, to the OP, you talk about this game like it is win already? the cowboys have proven time and time again that they play to the opponents level so EVERY game should be exciting to you?

I just hope the team wins and gets out of the game relatively unscathed on the injury front and nobody blows up on the sideline (had to add that one in there). But, nothing would surprise me anymore with the Cowboys and with the NFL in general.

Watching college football on Saturdays is so exciting and fun and enjoyable all in a good way. I like my alma mater Pitt but don't get upset if they lose. Watching pro football on Sundays is exciting but only fun and enjoyable if the Cowboys win. I don't know what I could do to change other than not liking my Cowboys so much. Too much of my enjoyment and fun is tied to the Cowboys winning and I don't know how to change or even if I could change.

Its only a trap game If we are exponentially better than our opponent. I dont think we are exponentially better than anyone at this point.

Given our defense and our sluggish offense we could just as easily lose this game as we could win it.

At this point I'm watching Dez more than I'm watching the Cowboys, so I get some enjoyment about 3 times a game.

hard to get up for three noon games in a row...

too early for cool refreshments..

not sure why so many think dallas is a lock to win this game.

I expect them to win, but I definitely haven't written it off as a sure thing. But if they do win, it's not going to make me feel any more confident in the team or anything, even if they win in a blowout. If they lose, it will just add to the frustration. I mean, I look forward to watching it and all, and hope to see a win, but I don't see beating a team like the Vikings as some huge accomplishment to get very worked up about. Losing is another matter, but not in a good way.

The players - other than a few - don't get excited for any games. Why should I?

This mythology needs to end and end now. It's a ridiculous slur on the players.

When Ware has been out there w/half his body completely numb…He's missed 3 games in his career now?
When Witten is out there no matter what every game…
When Romo is out there with cracked ribs, punctured lung/spleen you name it…
When Waters was playing with 3 devastating injuries…
etc…etc.

When these players are sacrificing their bodies to the point where they will have lifetime pain...

I suggest you critics just shut up and quit making fools of yourself with this "lacking passion" crap. With maybe 2 or 3 exceptions…this team is laying it out there every Sunday.

Some of you fans simply don't deserve a winning team.

You aren't a Cowboys fan then. Too bad for you. Ironically if anyone is a little light on passion it is Dez. For two seasons he couldn't care enough to learn the whole playbook and he still hasn't put anything close to Michael Irvin effort to learn his craft. The guy runs lousy routes as has been well documented lately.

You don't know how dez prepares week in week out so it's not right for you to make such derogatory claims.

To the OP, I get excited for every game Dallas plays, they only get to play 16 games a year. Hopefully a few more but you get the point. Anything can happen on any given Sunday, I'm always excited.
