Anyone else have trouble getting excited about games like this?

Show me some examples of dez running lousy routes. I don't think it happens very often. He is only 24 years old and will only get better. I would like to see him run more crossing patterns.

A good offensive system/scheme is supposed to make receivers look better. That's the real problem. Our receivers are talented and each bring something to the table.

Listen this guy has worked very hard and he fails to mention that Dez has been studying the great WR in how they run their routes. Problem with this offense is they throw to a "spot" so if the route is off by a yard or so it could be deemed not a precise route.

I think we're a good bit better than MN but we can be beat by them.

One positive this year is that we've beat the teams we should have beaten more handily than I remember the past few years. Our wins have been by 5, 24, 15 and 14 points. Not to say this will play out the same way. But the nail biters have been losses against pretty good to very good teams. (We'll get another chance at one of those in two weeks.)

I find it very difficult to get excited for a game against a 1-6 Minnesota team, especially after the collapse at the end of the last game. If they had won, I'd be in a better mood about it and look forward to being 6-3 after this weekend. Sitting here at 4-4 though and completely expecting a win, leaves me not looking forward to the game all that much. If they win it's expected, if they lose, then I'll be pissed. Not really a lot of positive to take away from a game like this. I look to the Saints game as the next one that I'll really have a chance to get excited for, to be hopefully see some impressive football that is indicative of where the team is or may be going (if anywhere).

Anyone else feel like this?

I feel this way also. That Lions game just kicked me in the gut. It has the feel of one of those games that we will look back on in January and point to as the main reason we let another division title slip through our hands.

This Vikings game is important, but mainly if we lose it. If we lose I could see the wheels start to fall off of the Garrett regime.

Modern offenses throw to a spot, it's hardly unique to the Cowboys.

I'm always happier after a win. I think that we can win this game, so, I am psyched.

Not for anything but I think megatron is a worse router runner than Dez, all he has is size and some speed along with some decent hands.

No. I'm not really excited for this game,,,,but. I watch all of them with great anticipation. I have Since 1980. Doesn't matter if they are 1 -15 or 13-3. Yeah i missed a few here and there, because of where I lived. Especially in the 80s. But you would've been surprised how many times the cowboys were on in the 80s, when I lived in PA. But. No joke, . I have seen or saw highlights of every game since 1980 .I love me some cowboys.

I remember staubach, Dorsett, Pearson, butch Johnson, Waters, too tall, randy white, etc etc......but I was just a kid. I came up as a teenager in the 80s. Guns and roses, Whitesnake, bruce Springsteen , max headroom.....all of it......so I remember Danny white and the Gang, and the 3 consecutive NFC championship beat downs. It Broke my heart. And then team just started to fall apart.. Hogeboom(who had a great arm!!!) Paul Palmer, 1-15......uuughh, I think a lot of people were ready for the triplets , oline, defenses of the jimmy Johnson years.....that's why we love Jimmy sooooo much!!! I mean his name still is referenced a lot. ANd its been 20 years!!!!! Omg!!!!

I'll watch. Ever play.

Its hard to look forward to seeing another player go down with an injury which seems to happen in every game, But cheer up theres another pro bowl QB and a road game after this.

Pretty much. Since I'm paying attention and you are clueless.

Lol look who is talking. You pay attention? Again look in the mirror before you call someone else clueless. I doubt you know every teams scheme and what principles it's based off of.

I can't help but get excited even when I've tried to lie to myself that I wasn't going to let it affect me so much.

Exactly

We lose to everybody but the scrub teams. Hard to get excited about beating a 1-6 Minny team knowing we are going to get rolled by Narlins the following week

IIRC, there was a stat a few weeks back that stated in the last 3 years or so, the Cowboys have lost TWO games by more than 6 points. The rest within a score. Doubt we get "rolled by Narlins"...

This.

Its the Cowboys so I'll be ready! :D

What excites me even more, though, is the possibility that some of these young guys on the d-line (Nevis, Austin, and Brown) could develop as starters under the supervision of Marinelli! If he can tap into their raw potential there is still hope for the defense and the season.

Still trying to compare Dez and Megatron in some kind of silly way? Some of you guys just never learn.

After 3 1/2 seasons of mediocrity it's hard getting excited about games but on the bright side which I rarely delve into the Cowboys are in first place and regardless of how crappy Minnesota is this is an important game because the Cowboys season could be decided by one game just like the last 2 seasons. This is a lot better than the alternative the Cowboys could be where Minnesota is who's pretty much playing for next year.
