I like the guys numbers he put up combine wise and his tape shows alot of flashes even though he was supposed to mostly be just an occupier in that Okie 3-4

Homestly, Tapper is the player that is the most intriguing from this draft. We're all pretty sure Zeke is going to be a solid contributor. Smith is an almost certain red-shirt. Collins? Meh. I want to see it. But Tapper? Considering his skill set was completely mismanaged in his final college season, combined with his measurables? His development has the highest intrigue factor, to me, this season.

The sum of our top 8 DL talent is probably pretty comparable to most teams. Problem is, that's because our bottom four DLs are relatively strong and our top four are relatively weak. Especially when you consider the suspensions.

I am interested in seeing how they come along, though.

Like the upside of our young players but Cowboys need a proven impact guy on DL right now. Trade for Jets' Mo Wilkerson then I will be excited.

Miami paid a lot for Suh, did they get their money's worth? Dallas paid for Hardy, did we get our money's worth? We signed Carr, did we get our money's worth? The Commanders paid for Haynesworth, did they get their money's worth? The Eagles paid for Bradford and Murray, did they get their money's worth? Throwing huge dollars at one position rarely pays off.

At this point, we don't have many contracts to restructure without basically extending bad contracts. We do have a few guys that are overpaid that we could cut, but with the dead money hits we wouldn't have money to sign better replacements so we will end up playing lesser players. It's not just as easy as signing one guy.

The inside of our defense is as good and as deep as it has been in 20 years. Crawford, Thornton, Collins and Irving. I love Irving off the bench and think he will make as big an impact as anyone else on the inside.

Nice cherry picking. Packers overpay for Reggie White or Cowboys with Deion? Did Denver get their money's worth by signing Ware and Peyton? It all depends on the players, not the dollars.

I admit, our D-line is completely unproven. Our most experienced player is the Eagle we brought in. Our next most is Jack Crawford. Our most proven players are probably Tyrone Crawford followed by Demarcus Lawrence who has a total of one good season under his belt. But this D-line is freakishly young and athletic. Tapper might be the fastest DE in the league. Irving is a freak. So is Gregory. I'm really looking forward to seeing what these guys can do. I'd almost rather see what a guy like Mayowa can do than get the usual 4 sacks from a guy like Jason Jones. This D-line has the potential to be absolutely awful. But they also have the potential to be very good and very exciting. I hope it goes the latter.

If Collins and Tapper have anything, Marinelli will get the most out of them on the DL, he loves the rotation.

I fully expect an addition to the DL of some variety either via team cuts or by poaching another Irvin type player from another teams practice squad.

None of these moves will be earth shattering but may add another player to the rotation.

I fully expect DE to be on the agenda either in free agency (doubtful) or the draft next year, the good news is the 2017 edge rusher class appears to be deep.
