Anyone else kind of excited about our D-line?

Cautiously optimistic. Mainly because while unproven, at least there is now talent in place and reason to expect improvement. Really stinks that we really can't get on board with Gregory because we honestly don't know if he'll be available week to week.

I also think there's a possibility Lawrence won't be out the full 4 weeks.

There's no first rounders, but you can't say we haven't used some solid resources in trying to address the DL.

Gregory (2nd)
Jaylon Smith (2nd) (adding him here because he's going to play some DE for us)
Lawrence (2nd)
Crawford (3rd)
Collins (3rd)
Tapper (4th)
Russell (5th)

Then you throw in the signings of Thornton, Mayowa, T. McClain, J.Crawford, and Irving and you've got a group where no one besides maybe Thornton and McClain have reached their ceilings. They're only going to get better.

I'm with Op. Lots of potential and the addition by subtraction thing is working in our favor with the loss of Mincey and Hayden.

I'll keep saying it. I focused and watched Irving a lot last year and I think he can be very good or at worst above average. He was constantly get nice penetration in limited time.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but I sure hope you're wrong.

Just look at what Gregory himself has shown everyone. He screwed up at the combine when he knew he would be tested. And it cost him millions.

He entered the league in the program already and then screwed up again, what? 3 more times?

Can you or anyone else honestly expect him to wake up and 'get it' now when he's refused to until this point?

That's benefit of the doubt I can't give him based on his track record.

I think he's closer to being out of this league than he is to being in it. Based on his own actions.

I'd be more excited if Cheech and Chong weren't important starters.

I hear you on that...I would feel much better if Jay and Silent Bob weren't suspended. Think they are gonna show vast improvement in Camp. Unfortunately, that momentum won't get a chance to carry over.

I really think Maliek Collins coming here will benefit Randy in a big way, on and off the field. Maliek is a good character guy and they were buds up in Nebraska. Even Garrett, in his draft call to Maliek, told him there is a player down here that is going to be very excited to reunite with you.

For this group, the arrow can only point one way, so from that standpoint, it is compelling.

I hope you're right, but Gregory is going to have to earn back trust. It's destroyed quickly but takes a lot of time to rebuild.

Intrigued to see what a bunch of no names can do and if they are fresh they should generate some rush.

If I'm not mistaken, Lawrence's deal is PED related and even had clearance to take the drug at some point earlier. Whatever the case, I feel confident we won't have to worry about him going forward. The PED offenders usually get popped once(suspended) and you never hear of any additional infractions.

Gregory I agree is a huge question mark. Based on his recent history, you'd have to be pleasantly surprised if he is eligible for the remaining 12 games.

I admit, our D-line is completely unproven. Our most experienced player is the Eagle we brought in. Our next most is Jack Crawford. Our most proven players are probably Tyrone Crawford followed by Demarcus Lawrence who has a total of one good season under his belt. But this D-line is freakishly young and athletic. Tapper might be the fastest DE in the league. Irving is a freak. So is Gregory. I'm really looking forward to seeing what these guys can do. I'd almost rather see what a guy like Mayowa can do than get the usual 4 sacks from a guy like Jason Jones. This D-line has the potential to be absolutely awful. But they also have the potential to be very good and very exciting. I hope it goes the latter.

No.

Just kidding, I do think it has potential.

Honestly, no. I'm intrigued but certainly not excited. I still have visions of a hobbled Aaron Rodgers slicing this team to shreds with no pressure at all and I'm not at all convinced that this group is any better than that one.

I'm hopeful that a couple of these guys prove to be a force but, honestly, I'm at the show me stage. When that happens, then I'll get excited.

Exactly where I am on this. All the Zeke's in the world won't stop Rodgers if you can't hit him and often.....they better hope for a healthy DLaw when he returns plus two of Irving, Gregory, Tapper, and Mayowa (Collins too raw, Russell not that good) working out or Romo will need to wait another year for a realistic shot at a Super Bowl.

The addition of Thornton was key this off season..Gregory-Thornton-Crawford-Lawrence looks like it could bring crazy heat.

Out of all the ridiculous posts I have seen post draft, this is by far the most homerish and ridiculous. Anyone excited about our Dline is drinking cool aid and wearing blinders at the same time. I guarantee you that even Jerry Jones isnt excited about our Dline. It projects to be one of the worst in the NFL no question about it. And for the first 4 games it could be one of the worst of all time.

You are the biggest blind homer possible. Enjoy that drunken dream while you can.
