Anyone else ready for Trey Lance?

It’s ridiculous to think Trey would outplay Dak at basically any point this year. He doesn’t even know the offense.

However, it’s also ridiculous to resign Dak knowing he cannot consistently function well without a perfect ecosystem, and has never been a true hero in any game since his rookie year

I agree, well said. That’s why I said only play Trey if we’re eliminated. But resigning Dak would be a mistake. Best case scenario we get a couple games to look at Trey this season so on draft day we can make a better decision. Dak has hit his ceiling. There’s no way Trey outplays him this season but Trey may have a higher ceiling. The sooner we find that out the better IMO. And if we have to wait till next offseason then so be it. I’m going to be pissed if we get eliminated and don’t start Trey. Then we’re just wasting game reps that could develop Trey or show how bad he is. Either way we would know.

if we go 0-5. what if we go 3-2? or 4-1? or 2-3?

I think people are just having a knee jerk reaction. they had it the first two weeks and they have it now. we weren't as good as the first two weeks made us to be and not as bad as we looked yesterday.

if we are eliminated from playoffs, then give lance a chance, however, he has to show he is better than Rush. if he can't beat rush, then he is not worth it. he is more like Justin Fields.

If we go 3-2 or 4-1 or even 2-3 there is still a chance to make the playoffs then you play Dak because he gives us the best chance to win this season. If we go 2-3 then our record would be 4-4. Then you play Dak cuz playoffs are possible. Unless something crazy happens and Dak has thrown 2 or 3 picks a game. In reality I doubt that happens. Again only if we are eliminated do we play Trey this season.

See I would suggest skipping Rush because we know what we have. If we’re eliminated from the playoffs then we should go into evaluation mode and we should use any game reps to see if we can develop Trey and evaluate him. Playing Rush is just like playing Dak if we get eliminated. Just wasted games that would screw our draft slot and keep us from evaluating Trey and what he can do in or system.

If there is any proof that Dak Prescott is washed up it was MCCarthy unwilling to let Dak pass the ball in the final drive. Almost all running plays. Then he lets Dak pass and bingo…….INTERCEPTION! This is why Jerry traded for Lance. He knew it was inevitable. Let’s do it now!!!

I do believe the Dak Prescott experiment has come to an end. I have seen enough. And dont blame it on the offensive line. It does not matter. This team is so poorly conditioned that almost the entire offensive line is on the bench. It will continue that way throughout the remainder of the season. This team is injury prone due to poor conditioning. To see this many injuries both season ending and otherwise is startling.

Can't believe all this hate for Trey.Wasn't he the starting QB for SF last year ahead of Purdy and Garropollo before he broke his ankle?Bradshaw thinks if Shanahan put him #3 QB he's not any good.Isn't he the same coach that had him #1last year?He is still only 23 years old and still learning.I'd rather give him a chance than pay 34 million for an average at best QB.

Brock Purdy has been playing like an MVP candidate since he first started, and continues so far this season. They found a diamond in the rough. Usually you strike gold on the high first round pick and punt the last pick in the draft they just happened to do the opposite.

Lance is unproven though only 8 games for his career.

Just remember to hold this opinion you have to feel you know better than every GM, scout, and coach who have Dak as a top 10 QB. They do not have Sam Darnold as a top 30 QB and Trey Lance lost out on his job to Sam Darnold. Trey Lance is not a top 50 QB in the NFL. He is wildly inaccurate (Jamarcus Russell levels of inaccurate), takes way too long to throw, and throws are awful. The only two things he has going for him is he is mobile and has a canon of an arm, but he cant use it so that is why he lost a starting job to the last pick in the draft and a backup job to Sam Darnold.

So tell me,, why with less than 4min left in the game does MM stay with multiple runs....and not even give DAK a chance.....then when he does call a pass...> DAK throws the INT..... thats speaks volumes

Also running the ball down by 2 TDS uses up 2 much time.Even if we scored there would be very little time left on the clock.

He's going to have Trey dinking and dunking. That McCarthy offense only works if you have an elite defense, which is why the year the Packers won it, the Packers had a great defense as well.

I truly believe Jerry doesn’t believe In Dak. Will McClay and Stephen Jones are in Jerry’s ear convincing him about Dak’s leadership blah blah. Jerry isn’t buying it and the Lance move is his way of showing it.

Dak can't talk his way into playoff success. He needs to evolve and show it on the football field. The Trey Lance trade is already bothering Dak and next week will be more of the same.

Dumb post. Dak’s not going anywhere and he isn’t an experiment. He’ll be QB1 for many years, so get used to it.

Let's see how this season ends. If things remain the same there's no incentive of retaining Dak past this season. Ceedee and Parsons's contracts are up; I expect Parsons to hold out to get the biggest contract for an NFL player in football history. Dak can't function without pro-bowler-caliber receivers at every position, what do you do with Dak if we are 1 and done in the playoffs? 34M cap savings will incentivize the team to move on from him.
