anyone else feel that NFL Network spends too much time in the past and not on the present or future....

too many NFL films, in their own words, NFL replay, Greatest games etc...

I like how NFL radio talks about NOW...they take calls answer emails etc....

I think NFL Network needs more talk shows ....I wanna hear more NFL discussion..not just Total Access a few times a day

I mean i like NFL replay but I can only watch the Giants win super bowl so many times.......:bang2:

this time of year its hard to watch ESPN and all the college B-ball BS....and especially baseball spring training........UUuugh

I agree, I'd like it if they had more ESPN type of shows like Around the Horn or Pardon the Interuption that were just solely about the NFL. I love watching the old classic games too, but would just like a little something extra.

You mean shows like Playbook, Path to the Draft, Put Up your Dukes, Total Access, NFL Gameday, and their segment breaks with NFL Now? On a side note, I can't stand Around the Horn. They do implement some parts of of ATH on Put Up Your Dukes and Total Access.

Granted, the do need to show less repeats, but we're talking about a new network.

I'd like to add, everyday there are folks whining about ESPN, and yet they want to see more ESPN-like programming. Go figure.

There's only so much news and opinion ... you can't fill a 24-hour day with just that.

NFL Films has done an awesome job (Ed Sabol and now his son, Steve Sabol) of archiving and preserving the great history of the National Football League.

I love NFL Films. Other sports haven't done near as good of a job of preserving their historic footage and producing great documentaries and features.

I like the old stuff. Reminds me of my childhood days and what was so great about the NFL.

But, I do agree some variety in the programming would be nice. If nothing else, show more of the old classic games and don't repeat the same ones over and over.

I think the people who complain about ESPN, complain about how ESPN handles news and how they favor certain people or teams over others (in their eyes). They don't seem to have a problem with the basic concept of the shows.

These guys must have forgot what ESPN was like the first few years they got started.

Watch it less.

That way, when you do tune in, it's all brand new stuff, and you're thrilled.

Funny, Dukes is my least favorite show on the network. He's ok as an analyst, but they didn't need to give him his own show.

I'd hate for NFL Network to show more of their style programming. Like Chief said, NFL Films has done alot to preserve the history of the league. I'd hope they'd show more classic games than produce yet another talk show.

The only good show Espn has ever produced,in my opinion, was Playmakers.
Unfortunately the NFL, wanting to keep it's "SHIELD" shiny and pretty, made such a fuss, Espn pulled the plug on it.
I thought it was a great show and looked forward to every episode.
Why some other network did not pick it up is beyond me.It would be a cash cow to run episodes in the off season.

I agree. The tape and music of NFL Films deserves a lot of credit for making the NFL the beloved sport it is today. I love the old music.

Speaking of which, can anyone tell me the name of the theme music used in this YouTube clip about Eric Dickerson? To me this is one of the best themes ever used by NFL Films. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GyzPRkOa9A

I loved that show. I thought it was funny when they showed Ray Lewis on ESPN one time bashing it.... the guy who was indicted of murder saying the show "wasn't a true representation of the NFL".
