Anyone else think we need a new TE?

I'm not trolling this is a serious question . I love witten , but let's face it he is not getting any separation anymore . Escobar seems like a bust and Hannah is a decent 2nd TE . I think we need a freakish athletic TE that can stretch the field . Witten's best days are gone .

Escobar might become that guy -- but it won't be this year.

Go back and look at the scouting reports on Escobar -- he was very highly regarded.

A part of me wants to trade witten, but its not because he isnt getting separation. Its because Romo throws to him too much. He stares at Witten when the best player on the team is lined up at WR.

Take Romo's security blanket away and force him to throw to Dez.

Can he stretch the field and get separation ? Teams are doubling dez and that is why Williams and Beasley are having marginal success but witten is really hurting us this year .

They could never sit Witten. EVER. They "owe it to him" to play, right? Right?

I think

I think it's the opposite I see Witten running down field to far and not even out of his break and romo is already sacked

I dunno. I think Witten's good at getting open downfield. It is annoying however when it's 3rd and long and Romo throws it to him 1 yard down the field at the sideline.

Along with the screens to Hanna, that's all on play design

Yeah, we need to limit Witten. It pains me to say this. But for the very reason you've stated.

I love the hysteria.Calling a rookie who has barely played a bust.

Nope.

But then again, I'm not an overly-emotional fan who wants to get rid of our best players after 1 bad game. I guess this thread isn't for me.

There i

There is a reason he is barely playing . A 2nd round pick should be an immediate impact starter . No ifs or buts I'm tired of excuses .

I think the reason is because his blocking needs work.Far from being a bust yet IMO.

While I do think he has lost a step, Witten ranks pretty darn low on the "issues we need to address" list.

unless it's a 5 yard out right or a screen, romo ain't throwing to you. he doesn't even attempt to look.

witten has plenty left in him. it's noodle arm romo that is hearing footsteps every play and not giving his receivers enough time.

Blocking issues aside, Escobar isn't even trusted to get in the game on passing downs or red zone situations
