Anyone else think we need more Dak runs?

Aaron Rodgers has run the ball 7 times this year, Dak Prescott 3. 24 qbs in all have more credited rushing attempts than Prescott. I am not saying he should run the ball every play, but he shouldn't be 25th in rushing attempts either, especially with our red zone woes.

Rodgers will run when he has ample yards in front of him. opposing teams will drop a lot of guy into coverage because they fear his ability as a passer and leave open space for Rodgers to run. These are not designed runs for the most part

No, we need him to stay healthy for the next 3 years to backup Romo when he's hurt to keep the seasons alive until his return. Lol

I wasn't able to watch last week's game other than what was on Red Zone (did watch week 1 though) but I can't recall ever seeing a designed QB keeper, or even pass / run option bootlegs. We have one of the most mobile QBs in the league, why aren't we doing more to utilize this? This would help receivers, especially Dez, get open as it would force them to leave a LB to spy... And it would be especially deadly in the red zone (which is like the beginning and end of our offensive issues) where CBs would have to decide on bootlegs to come get Dak or to stay on their man. So why aren't we doing this more?
He's cleverly mobile, but not fast.
Maybe a rare designed run, but let's not mistake Dak for someone that is a fast runner. All linebackers and many DEs are faster than 4.8.
I'd hate to get him hurt trying to be cute.
His best runs will come when he breaks coverage.

He does have nice skills at running though, it's just that things are so much faster at this level.

I would prefer to see Dak continue to develop as a passer and rely more on his arm than his legs. The only thing he hasn't done is throw a TD pass and to stay in the lineup and be the future of the team the TD passes have to start coming and I believe they will.

So far, I haven't seen any reason to question Dak's approach. He's doing all the right things. He can continue to pick his spots, but I love that his instinct is to pass first.

I want to see ad lib runs, where he drops back to pass, and then runs if it is open.
Designed runs can be read and he might get hurt or not much gained.
He has only had three runs so far, but I'm pretty sure none of them were designed runs...all came after he scanned the field and didn't like what he was seeing. It's understandable that fans want him to run on occasion, and he will. Personally, I'd prefer that be a rare occurrence. The fewer times he runs, the more effective his runs will be when he does have to take off.

I completely disagree. We did have one designed read option play vs the Giants which was effective for about 8 yards or so. I get the temptation but I love the way Dak plays. He reminds me of a young Romo in that he's mobile in the pocket, keeps his head up and looks to pass first. QB MUST BE MASTERED from the pocket. I don't want a "gadget" qb. I say allow him to master the game from the pocket and use his athleticism as needed (ie his big TD run last Sunday).

I don't think our coaching staff wants to show their hand fully just yet. I think they know defenses are going to start game planning once they get more film on Dak. I really do think they're saving all those plays when defenses catch on.

I want to see more designed QB runs too but only once we have our backup QB up to speed.

Yup, and definitely from a spread formation. When we have 4-5 receivers spread out, the middle of the defense looks so inviting. Drop back, nothing there, take off. The running lanes will be massive. Frankly, I think this is a great goal line strategy too. Spread everyone out and let Dak run right behind our surging offensive line. There is virtually no second line of defense to stop it when you spread the defense out like that.
Exactly !!! this is why I hate the stupid jumbo formation teams use, much easier to create a hole or lane with defense spread out.
But ol JG likes the jumbo, and so far has not used daks running ability at all.
Heck coaches were content to not use dez and just let him be decoy till jerry told them otherwise.

When a qb takes off on a run from pocket, it frustrates the defense bigtime.

Hit on a couple of deep balls and that will open up the running game
Butler needs to emerge like Robinson did.

He needs to be like Harper was for Aikman and Irvin.

If we get a deep threat in single coverage to produce..

we win on Sunday.

Love what Beasley is doing..but he can't get deep.

And T Will doesn't scare anybody.
