I do. Seriously, the 9:15 PM start time really sucks! Sorry to offend the west coasters, but it really stinks to have to wait till 9PM and then the worst part is finishing at 12:30. I don't know about any of you, but I can't settle down after the game. My halftime ritual is a glass of milk and a good dose of Nyquil. Even then, I still have a hard time falling asleep. :bang2:

I would prefer that they not be on Monday night....

I agree. Monday night games need to be moved at least an hour earlier.

West Coasters get mad, but they can't keep a team in LA. With Tivo, VCRs, DVD recorders, etc, it makes more sense to inconvenience one time zone as opposed to three.

The time thing used to bother me a bit but being in PST time zone now, I love it :( Sorry it is so early for you guys though.

I'm not feeling you on this buddy. Nothing is better than the Cowboys on Monday Night. The game could start at Midnight and I would watch every play gladly.

tivo works for east coasters too

Sure, but it would be more convenient for one time zone to do it as opposed to 2 or 3.

Start the games at 5 pacific, 6 mountain, 7 central and 8 eastern.

West coasters might have to Tivo the first half. They would still have time to watch the whole thing before it gets very late. East coasters could finish at a respectable 11 to 11:30.

I'm not east coast by the way, this just seems to make more sense to me.

I would love to be able to even see it real time. In Hawaii, the ABC affiliate shows a tape delay which starts at 6:30 HST which is 9:30 PT and 12:30 a.m. ET. I have to avoid news, ESPN, Cowboyszone and phone calls with fans on the mainland unless I want to know the outcome of the game before I even watch it.

I can't wait until next year when the game will be on ESPN and I can get it in real time.

and even at 5 it's not that late, think most people getoff work between 3-5 so what you miss the first quarter? As to opposed students and workers who live in the central and east caost who if they want to see the whole game have stay up till 11-1 in the morning?

Many people work until 5 (or later). I am sure traffic is a bear in the big city markets (LA, SF, etc), so they might not get home until later. So, I do see their argument there.

However, I am sure many East Coasters start their day at 5 AM. Staying up to watch the Boys in overtime makes that next morning pretty rough.

They start at 9pm Eastern, 8pm Central here in Texas, 7pm Mountain and 6pm in the West...that's how it should be IMO.

I mean, we are talking about Monday NIGHT Football.

You can't expect the game to start during rush hour at 5pm on the West coast. Not to mention, the sun sets at about what 8 o'clock in California? The freakin' game will proabaly be over by then. You might just as well call it "Monday Afternoon Football" in California.

:laugh2:

Okay, I going to show my ignorance here. Isn't the "normal" work day in New York 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.? If so, that gives them an extra hour Tuesday morning to get to work compared to the west coast which works 8 a.m to 5 p.m.

I know there are many, many people who don't work the "normal" work shift, but I'm wondering if that didn't have something to do with setting the game time as it is now.

Why not start it at 8:30 est, with a half hour pre-game show, it would get over around 11:30est.

Pacific Time Zone- Love Monday Night Games! I run a Football Pool and it most always comes down to Monday........

Agreed. I live in DC and I'm a total zombie on Tuesdays. Why the hell can't they kick off at 9:05 sharp? The Philly game didn't get going till 9:12. Ridiculous.

I don't know, I was in Cali this past Monday, and I missed the entire MNF game because I had a dinner I had to be at. It ran from 6:00 until 9:00 and I caught just the last 2 minutes on radio. On the east coast, I would have been able to watch the whole game.

I never go to bed before 1:00 anyway... the 9:00 kick off is fine with me.

Had to post a little something regarding this subject.

I grew up in atlantic Canada, New Brunswick specifically, and that put us in Atlantic Standard Time, one hour later than EST. Monday night football began/begins at 10:00. Killer for all my Cowboy friends and myself.. ugh.

Sunday games begin at 2 in the afternoon. Sometimes it felt like forever waiting for those games to start.

I now live in California. Nirvana. Games on Sunday at 10 in the morning. I love the left coast.
