I totally agreed with letting him go, but allow be to play devil's advocate for a second.

When he was on our roster we went 13-3, he put up monster stats, Witten also had huge seasons with Owens running off defenders, defenses constantly had to double team him, and he opened up things for us offensively.

Can't say that Roy draws any special attention, only thing he draws is the teams 2nd best corner and man coverage.

Thank you for being honest although you agreed with the move. People fail to realize we lost Wittens probowl numbers with that move as well.

He is right about one thing; the cowboys need a speedy wr that can stretch the defense, forcing teams to double team him. Roy Williams isnt getting that done. And Austin hasnt if you go back and look at games this year, austin hasnt caught many big balls in the first half.

Maybe if we were to actually take a shot or two downfield it would help. Austin is faster than TO and Williams is as fast.

I said at the time that getting rid of Owens was probably the single dumbest personnel move Jones has ever made. That is, needlessly depriving yourself of top talent, and paying more to do it, nonetheless. So, essentially, we had to pay in cap space to cut a top talent, yet did it anyway. Truly amazing.

can't totally argue with you there. i was "ok" with signing roy but like many don't think he's come close to his hype. i'd not care if he left tomorrow and we sucked it up and tried to work it out without him.

i just get sick and tired of the lock-jawed, tunnellvisioned "fans" we have that want what they want over the team itself. just not a good team unless jones does things THEIR way.
