Anyone interested in a "JUSTICE LEAGUE" film?

I'm *** not.

But this is what Warner Bros. is trying to shove down our throats for a summer '09 tentpole. The issue is that writers strike which is looming and studios are scrambling to get their eggs in a row before it happens.

I think this is a trainwreck waiting to happen -- especially since it will have Batman (not Christian Bale and not the "same Batman," if you will) in it and we're right in the middle of the Chris Nolan-directed Bat-trilogy.

Just wanted to know what the "mainstream" thinks to I can give Warners hell each time they call! ;) :starspin

I'm all for it. Can't wait till it's done.

Although it seems dumb to not have Bale in the role of Batman.

When is the new batman coming out anyway?

No. I didn't read any of the DC comics, but the idea of a "Justice League" always seemed silly and childish to me.

We're talking about a comic book, dude. They're all silly and childish. It's just a matter of whether or not you're in to that sort of thing.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing it. When I was a kid, the Justice League was about the only comic book that I read. After all, they did X-Men.

I've been collecting comics for 22 years so I'm always open to anything that can bring comics-related material to the big screen. The upcoming Justice League movie will have some neat perks like seeing the Flash and Green Lantern. Even as bad as it will be, at least it will be fun to see them bring characters to real life. However, just as in sports, I'm no homer and a lot of the recent comics-related films have been terrible in my opinion namely Superman Returns.

I heard that it might include the Wonder Twins... is that true?

If so, it can't be anything more than a disastrous farce.

FWIW I heard that Jake and Maggie Gyllenhall were being considered for the WT.

The new Batman is coming out next June. It will star Heath Ledger as the Joker. I've seen a photo of him as the Joker and he looks much more like a deranged serial killer with makeup than a clown. The new film will be very good.

Really? Spawn was good, but The Punisher has had two movie incarnations and I thought both were average at best.

I would not mind a Justice League, but it isn't something I see as a must. While I enjoyed the X-Men movies, sometimes it is easier to focus on fewer characters. Plus the X-Men started as a group. That was their identity. The Justice League are better known as individuals that happened to form a group. I would rather see a Flash movie or Green Lantern movie than them in the Justice League.

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one out there who was disappointed in Superman Returns. After the introduction of special effects in The Matrix movies, I was geared up to be blown away by SR, but wasn't.

I'm interested in seeing DC finally put out a big screen hit that's doesn't have Batman in its title. Even with movies like Hulk and Electra not making the grade, the Marvel adaptations have been very entertaining for me, mostly.

I wonder who would play WONDER Woman? If it's someone with Lynda Carter's (70's) bod and Lucy (Xena) Lawless' acting aura (sure, she's not the best actress out there, but I love her anyway), that would be a great combination. Whoever's making the film better not do some stupid typecasting like Reese Witherspoon for the Amazon Princess.

Never cared for the justice league. But I was also not a big fan of DC Comics for the most part.

Always was a marvel guy. I have always liked the X-Men and the Avengers. Well they already have the X-Men movies, they are still doing the finishing touches on the Iron Man movie (he was an avenger)...kind of like to see what they could do with Vision from the Avengers.

I thought Superman returns was flat out terrible.

I thought all of the batman movies, except this last one, was terrible.

Liked the X-Men movie. Thought the Hulk movie was so bad I wish the hulk would have destroyed, smashed anyone associated with the movie.

Electra and Daredevil were terrible as well. At least Electra looked nice and the villains were kind of cool.

Looking forward to see what the Wolverine movie will be like.

yah i loved the spawn movie (live action, animated were cool too thought!) and the recent punisher with Thomas Jane was cool and was a good introductory movie.

Edit: Punisher 2 wont have thomas jane in it! some dude named Ray Stevenson. its due out in 2008

I got to agree with you about SR. Bryan Singer could have brought some of his X-Men touch to this film, but he decided to go with the same theme as the original Superman movies, which were too over the top (even though I do give Superman II props for being the best of the bunch).

The original Batman was pretty good, imo. Nicholson as the Joker was great casting. My favorite line from the movie remains, "How can a guy dressed as a bat gets all my press??? This town needs an enema!!!" :laugh1:

The X-Men flicks aren't at the very top of my best superhero movies list (Spider-Man I & II sit very comfortably at #1 & #2, followed closely by Batman Begins at #3), but all three are in my Top 10 or 15 (I'll have to update my list LOL).

Can't blame you about The Hulk. Ang Lee (sp?) made a very chaotic looking movie. It didn't flow well at all. Connelly and Bana pretty much sleepwalked through the whole movie. The action was pretty good though.

Unfortunately, Electra missed the mark, which is too bad because Jennifer Garner was perfect casting for the lead role. I disagree about DareDevil. My first thoughts before seeing the movie was that Ben Affleck would mangle the character (which is one of the best Marvel characters ever created), but he did a fantastic job, imo. The movie's low key, which I think was an asset for me liking it so well.

I'm nervous about any Wolverine movie hitting the big screen. Wolvie's one of my all-time Top 5 comic book characters and the last thing that I want to see is for some director to crap up his image. Hugh Jackman has done a great job of translating the character in the X-Men movies, but with a lot of restrictions. Wolverine is a beast and it's way past time that he was let loose on the movie-going public. You got that, bub? :)

Ray Stevenson was one of the lead actors in the HBO series Rome. He was Titus Pullo and did a good job in that role.

An Iron Fist movie will come out in 2008 and Luke Cage a.k.a. Powerman will come out in 2009. They are a couple of 2nd tier Marvel characters, so I was surprised to find out they were getting movies.

Super Man Returns: They nailed the casting of Superman, I thought. I was very pleased with Routh. At first I hated the casting of Lois Lane, but I think it worked in the end (although they could have done better). Kevin Spacey was the perfect Luther. The look and feel of the movie was perfect.

The problem is that the script was completely subpar, and a crappy knockoff of the first one's formula. I wasn't happy with Singer's treatment - he tried to make it too emotional. Emotion is good, but I wanted to see Superman, not a romance.

Batman Begins has set a new benchmark for comic book adaptations. It is far better than any other in my opinion.

Spawn was very B-Movie Script, A-Movie Budget, but it worked out OK.

I actually LOVED the new punisher. It never felt like a comic book.

X-Men one was perfect in that it marked a return of the genre very well. I am one of the few that didn't care too much for the second one - it was too much a departure from the comic books. I am also one of the few that really enjoyed the third - after two cerebral movies capturing the soul and message of the comic, I was excited to see some arse whooping.

SpiderMan 1 - Really good, but already looked like a Sam Raimi film. 2 - Pretty good, but still had some of the camp. 3 - Fatal Disaster. Kind of knew it would be when you counted the number of villains and story lines.

Hulk - I get caught in a trap about the Hulk. I think I saw what they were trying to do with it, so I enjoyed it. But after watching once or twice again, I think I understand that just because I get where they were going, they didn't succeed, so it is less enjoyable. Still, I enjoyed the overall feel.

DareDevil - Crap.

I must be one of the few that just thought the spider man movies were VERY over rated. Just did not care for them much at all. However to be fair I was never a big fan of the Spiderman Comics.
