Does anyone know when Stanback will be back at practice? I'm just curios if anyone knows when Mr. "Day to Day" plans to do something on the filed at WR. Who in the meantime is taking his reps at WR and how are they doing?

I dont see how Ogletree wouldnt take his spot at this point unless he just totally sucks it up in the pre season games. The only thing that saved Stanback up to this point was his potential and his return abilities. To this point the potential hasnt resulted in squat and Ogletree is a lot more polished reciever and Ogletree can return kicks so IMO that puts the nail in the coffin for Stanback. Dont get me wrong I was excited for the dudes potential the past few seasons but he cant stay healthy and hasnt shown enough at WR to risk cutting a rookie whose already polished and has experience in a pro style set at VA. Ogletree wont last on the waiver wires if we try and put him on the practice squad

From the little Stanback has played this year he was supposedly impressive.

So back to the original question. When will he be back?

I would make him a first cut casualty. It's time to cut our losses and there is no reason he should eventually come back and steal someones reps, only to get hurt again.

I'm very happy about Ogletree's progress. I actually predicted he would take Stanback's spot for the #5 WR spot. We'll only keep 5 WR's this year so Ogletree better show something on special teams as well!

When was this?

Before or after the day he dropped four passes?

He was at both practices today......in shorts and t-shirt. He did work on the side with trainers running sprints full speed.

But it will proabably be too little too late. He will proabably injure his labia once he gets back on the field.

I predict Stanback will be back on the field on Saturday.

Then out again Sunday afternoon. (Those morning walkthroughs can be brutal.)

Stanback not falling behind, Phillips says

OK, right, Wade. Whatever.

Isaiah Stanback has missed the last five days days of practice with a hamstring injury. I asked Phillips yesterday whether the receiver had dug himself too big of a hole to get out of and he said:

"No, at least he's been here, he knows the routes, he knows how to run them," Phillips said. "I think he can fall back in pretty quickly. I think the thing with him is the mental part. He can't fall into, 'This (getting injured) is always happening to me,' and that kind of thing. And I've seen it happen before. I've seen guys injured a whole lot and stay injured and I've seen guys injured and all of a sudden they get going and they're never hurt again. Hopefully, he'll be the latter."

Even if Stanback makes the roster, the team has to have major concerns about his lengthy injury history. It's a good thing Bill Parcells isn't still the coach, because if he was, Stanback would be gone by now.

The whining will be a cacophony if Stanback makes this team.

it will.

but I'll go on record as saying the best thing that could happen to us at WR is that Stanback makes the team as our #5.

projects are projects and it is stupid to abandon a project too soon.
