The league is such a lying clown show. Player safety…right. These idiots will squeeze in more games, shorter weeks, international travel and yet preach player safety. It’s comical. Basically Jerry loves Christmas games. Why? It pads his pockets. No care for the players. No care for the product. No care for the fans. Is the NFL the worst run league in sports?
Am I off base here?

Not at all, they trying to get an 18th game in as well. They flex games and dont care about how it impacts fans. One of my co workers were talking about how these flexes affect alot of the dynamics of fans traveling but they dont care. My brother lives in San Antonio and went to the high school finals that were at AT&T. Parking was $25 and tickets were $20. I am thinking, geesh Jerry you dont need that much money to where you charging for parking at a high school football games smh.

These comments?

Bottom line - The NFL is a entertainment company. It's about marketing and making money. Everything else is secondary to them. That's why they put games on Monday night clear back in the 70's. And what the NFL is today is what's grown from that decision. It's going to lead to more streaming games before long. All in the interest of one thing - making more money.

You're a mean one, Jerry Jones Mr. Grinch!
You really are a heel!
You're as cuddly as a cactus!
You're as charming as an eel!
JERRY JONES MISTER GRINCH!
You're a bad banana with the greasy black peel!

Seriously though, Jones is no more or less as callously greed as any other professional sports team owner concerning the holiday. The only thing separating him from the overwhelming number of NFL and NBA owners is his incessant need to promote virtually ANYTHING that will net him a profit.

Which is kinda sad. The owners pay Roger Goodell $64 million a year to do exactly what Jones never had the self-control to not do. In the end, PT Barnum's gotta PT Barnum or he will die a little on the inside. His mind works like a tiny great white shark. He must keep moving in order to breathe in money.

This probably becomes another argument for the 18th game. Add in another week to the season, two with another bye week and all of a sudden you dont have to cram in 3 games in less than two weeks as you can make sure that the teams playing on these odd days during the week get a bye either before or after.

This is why 99% of the time I am on the side of the players in contract/money situations. NFL players are essentially modern gladiators. Sure they know what they’re getting into but playing 3 games in 11 days is insane.

Despite what comes out of the mouths of the NFL admin and NFL owners, they do not care half as much about players safety as they do about cold hard cash. And the lust for higher percentages of profits never ends.

I’m all for free enterprise and letting people legally make the most they can. But NFL players have between 4-10 years to make the most money they will ever make in their lives. NFL owners have a lifetime to make billions. Sure they own the team but owning an NFL franchise is perhaps the LEAST risky business there is.

Fans wonder why players are making a killing ..................when owners make money, players make more money. And coz QBs are the straws that stir the drinks, it's no wonder why their salaries are through the roof. Now has more to do with timing, not talent.

NFL owners keep 52% of the league's gross revenue, while players receive 48%. This split includes money from broadcast TV, tickets, licensing, and merchandise sales. However, the 48% for players does not include revenue from: Premium seating, Stadium naming rights, Most gambling revenue, and Real estate appreciation
The NFL's salary cap helps to keep player costs in check, and the league also provides a guaranteed check to each team before they sell any tickets, beer, or parking spaces. In 2024, the salary cap per club is $255.4 million, with an additional $74 million for player benefits

It’s not really an issue until 2029. 2025 falls on Thursday, 2026 on Friday, 2027 on Saturday, and 2028 on Monday. In 2029 it falls on Tuesday which is where they have to get creative. You could have a team play Sunday December 16, then 9 days later play Tuesday December 25, and then 5 days later on Sunday December 30.

I think it was ok when 4 teams played 3 games in 11 days around Thanksgiving. It pushed the boundaries but it worked ok. Dallas and Detroit had perfected the schedule. Now they are squeezing in games to accommodate their new paymasters at Amazon and Netflix. Toss in the ridiculous international stuff and presto you get a watered down league where the quality of play has dramatically slipped. Ultimately there will be a price for this.

Go look at Jerry’s comments in his upcoming Netflix documentary.

The trailer has 3 snippets of him talking. Not once is on field success mentioned.

Keep em talking
365 day a year soap opera
And success isn’t on the field

Those are the 3 snippets from the trailer. From Jerry’s mouth.

So how is it different playing a Saturday game, then a Wednesday game, over a Sunday game then a Thursday game?

Why are fans so bent out of shape over it?
It is the way it is. We can't change it. Personally I like it.

Why is it Jerry's fault. Isn't it a league descison, and based on owners, ALL owners approval. Yet fans still blame Jerry.
They do care for the fans. Fans want more NFL.

Yes, I think you are off base. Except for the international games. I am not sure about those.

The shorter weeks lead to longer weeks. It balances out.

You know what no I did not I did not see Jerry's comments nor did I care about Jerry's comments apparently you care about Jerry's comments meaning you're connected to Jerry Jerry's philosophy because you're actually supporting him by telling us how much you hate him but you read everything that's written about him or everything said about him or everything he says it's apparent you love Jerry Jones he lives right free in your head you have a secret crush on Jerry Jones....

Now back to reality here's the reality he is not alone Jerry Jones is not the face of the NFL as much as you like to think so Debbie Roger Goodell you blaming Jerry Jones you might wanna add in the other 31 teams because everyone has a vote all 32 teams are they big *** league this is$100 billion league that has a union and they have a board they have a lot of hoops they have to jump through and some majority allowed this but somehow you reconnect it to Jerry because he says he likes Christmas football apparently all the owners or most of the owners a majority of the owners the the union the boards everybody the powers that be not the fan base not a single owner decided that this would be fine.. Which by the way I also find it ironic that there was college football college basketball there was I believe NBAI believe The Mavericks played on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day literally you are barking up the wrong tree you're complaining again because Jerry is an easy target I know you guys love to do this you pick up Jerry because you think it's fun to do and that everybody on here will come in here well I'm not one of them this is bigger than one person and one owner this has been agreed upon by a lot of people or wouldn't be happening including the TV's contracts and the television media apparently somebody thought it was a good idea and the majority of them went ahead and approved it

FYI to sum it up this is not about Jerry and him liking football on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day this is about the entire league approved it and the entire media world approved it and other sports are also playing on the holidays including the NBA apparently that's OK for the NBA where are you gonna pick on Cuban no he's no longer full majority owner anymore he's part owner of The Mavericks but why don't we bring him up in this just in case because the NBA played also on the holidays... Please don't say football's different because they will get their time off I'm sure they'll get a week to 10 days off after playing but I didn't watch it 'cause it was on Netflix so apparently I'm not part of the problem 'cause I'm not supporting Netflix by buying their junk just for football I will not watch the games unless they're on something I already paid for for other reasons...

:hammer:Long as they get connected to Jerry they're gonna come on here and complain 'cause they feel like a majority on here will support them they get their therapy for the day by another GM Jerry post as if he has control of the $100 million league that is the NFL in which by the way I saw NBA games on as well some NCAA games I see all kinds of sports on all week long no matter what day it is long as they get their rest you know as far as the NFL goes they get their seven to 10 days what does it matter what day they play on? They could have picked a better match up because unlike the Cowboys the Saints laid down like little female dogs and took it and didn't provide any kind of competition at all it's kinda sad that Cooper rush is better than Spencer rattler or our backups are better than theirs when we have the worst gym in the league apparently some of the worst ownership in the league and yet our players are playing till the last game...

I personally would like a 20 game season split in 2 parts. Summer league and winter league. 3 months on, and 3 months off. Training camp would be 2 weeks, no pre season games.
No more long boring off season, players would be less burnt and more time for injuries to heal.

That was my thought. All four teams that played yesterday also played last Saturday. Same thing as Sun-Thur.

It’s the greed that’s annoying, but it is what it is. Pretty much Goodells only job is to be greedy on behalf of the owners.

It’s only going to continue to get worse.
