The players call it "mini-bye weeks".

They get a lot of time off. The pads don’t come on until after the first week of training camp plus they get days off in camp. Two a days were done away with years ago. Most starters don’t even play in preseason. The short weeks during the season lead to long weeks.

ya, its no biggie anymore. Nothing is surprising. I wished it was Dallas yesterday in playoff mode.

Being on Christmas day does not bother me at all. What does bother me, is that the games yesterday were on a subscription channel (Netflix). I love football, but I'll be glad when they price themselves out of business someday.

It used to be said it takes the full week to recover from a Sunday game. They literally have killed kickoffs in the name of player safety. Yet playing games on three days rest is ok. The league is hypocritical and all about making money. That's why I'm always pro players during contract time. Get all your money.

I had to scroll through a bunch of sub menus amazon just find the game. The announcers sucked. The stream quality made the the 4k tv irrelevant. The NFL is just about grabbing more and more money from anywhere they can get it. Quality of the product is no longer a factor. I bet the NFL brass even thinks it doesn't matter who wears the uniforms.

how does seeing the truth made someone a puppet? i said a LONG time ago the NFL was headed for Pay Per View cause there's only so much you can milk off network TV. now they're scattered to the winds and you need what, 8 pay sources in order to watch football?

Division rivals play both games the same day; 12pm and 8pm so there's enough time to fly between games. This will allow 3 more games to be added to the regular season.

I think it was ok when 4 teams played 3 games in 11 days around Thanksgiving. It pushed the boundaries but it worked ok. Dallas and Detroit had perfected the schedule. Now they are squeezing in games to accommodate their new paymasters at Amazon and Netflix. Toss in the ridiculous international stuff and presto you get a watered down league where the quality of play has dramatically slipped. Ultimately there will be a price for this.

I can’t stand having to search for games. Hate to admit this now but I am a big NY Rangers fan. The occasional ESPN + telecast drives me crazy. Logging on is always a pain and man the buffering in the middle of the games drives me crazy. Happy Holidays!

You’re way off base. The numbers prove otherwise. The players make more now than they ever have. The ratings prove the NFL owns TV. Players will always complain. They are the softest they have ever been and are pampered more now than ever before. They sit out with sprains, pulls, and stingers. It’s insane.
