What I dont like is that none of the games on wed, thur, fri, sat are on free network TV ! Not one ! A person would have to have netflix, Amz prime, nfl network to see any of the games! They would have to have all 3 of those to see them all while nothing is on network TV!
I would think that the networks would be mad since they pay nfl more than anyone else. They didnt get 1 single game.
They should have had at least one or 2 on network TV on xmas day.

The league is such a lying clown show. Player safety…right. These idiots will squeeze in more games, shorter weeks, international travel and yet preach player safety. It’s comical. Basically Jerry loves Christmas games. Why? It pads his pockets. No care for the players. No care for the product. No care for the fans. Is the NFL the worst run league in sports?
Am I off base here?
It really is inhumane and stupid to make players play 17 games in a weekly schedule.
Bye weeks frustrate the fans. "The Giants kind of lead in the East but we are awaiting the Cowboys results on Monday."

Play 16 games every 2 weeks. Yes, fans will hate waiting two weeks, but some already wait 8 or more days
2-week skeds would give players a humane break from the physical brutality they experience.
Would it be inconvenient to some? Yes, chaps, but if we pretend to be humane, why not give players a physical break for rehab and family time?
But imagine NFL football spread over 32 weeks of the year?

This probably becomes another argument for the 18th game. Add in another week to the season, two with another bye week and all of a sudden you dont have to cram in 3 games in less than two weeks as you can make sure that the teams playing on these odd days during the week get a bye either before or after.
It's not if it's when 18 regular season games. Two preseason games. Every team gets two byes and extra roster spots. Super bowl presidents weekend.

It’s not really an issue until 2029. 2025 falls on Thursday, 2026 on Friday, 2027 on Saturday, and 2028 on Monday. In 2029 it falls on Tuesday which is where they have to get creative. You could have a team play Sunday December 16, then 9 days later play Tuesday December 25, and then 5 days later on Sunday December 30.
Or they could play on Sunday the 16th, Tuesday the 25th and then the following Monday Night the 31st.

Well it is all based on Neilsen ratings, and then it is estimated based on that.
I can see where if NFL paid nielson a billion a year they would make sure those ratings stay high ??
I can just give it the old eye test: when I go to supermarket or mall, I see people, young and old, walking around in their NFL jerseys, hats, etc. It's not a fashion statement...they're just "sucked in" rabid fans.

At work....people talking every Monday about the games over the weekend, arguing, debating, teasing, happy, mad, etc etc etc. I just don't see this with any other sport.

The NFL has created a product we all freaking can't get enough of.

Networks and services lining up to pay them hundreds of millions just to air a single game. It's crazy.

They're doing juuuusstttt fine.
