We get on the cowboys for their trades, but to know that we got a good player yesterday and used only a 5th, I'm still in shock.

We're known for being generous and not making trades while other teams make it look easy. Guess we can't say that anymore. Keep up the good work cowboys. Do you foresee anymore trades like this?! Share your happiness, feels damn good to wake up happy for once!!

I am very pleased. 5th is not a big cost. Plus there is luxury with having other comp picks in the 5th round. We can still attempt to find roster depth.

Lets give the organization another big up and say we do well throughout the draft ....even get worth out of our undrafted picks. Wasn't it our last (compensatory) 5th round pick to boot. Top move.

Its not the picks but the 9M in cap space that concerns me. Gilmore WAS a great CB, but he is not that guy anymore.

Thats a lot of money for a 32 year old CB with an unknown amount of juice left in the tank.

I have no problem with the trade giving up a fifth round draft pick for a starter at 9 million and only one year left on his deal.....What I would have a problem with is if Dallas gives him an extension, then that would be a problem at his age....

It was our last. We were awarded pick 169 and 176. We traded pick 176 for Gilmore.

Side note: Our 6th round comp pick is #212.

Yep, we dont have to hit a draft HR on every ball, mix it up, there may be some short term immediate gains like Gilmore.

The CAP cost per production is a very CAP Boy way of looking at improving performance the team. Sometimes you have to say, one of our biggest weakness's was at CB2, Bland may be able to step up, but now he has the opportunity to mature and gain experience as slot (and occasional CB2, if the aging Gilmore needs a rest).

Its one year deal and still gives us CAP space (with the restructure/cut of Tyron, Zeke and Lewis) to improve our receiving corp.....variety of experience and CAP allocation as it get's turned over and changes each year.

Its a one year rental for 8 million. I think we are just blown away he did something and didnt get ripped off.

The better play would have been Peterson for 2 years and 14 million with no draft pick compensation.
