I really didn't think his career would come down to this. Anyone interested?
Saints bench starting QB Brooks for season
SAN ANTONIO - Struggling New Orleans Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks has been benched for the rest of the season.

"It's not an indictment of Aaron whatsoever," coach Jim Haslett said after practice Wednesday. "It's an indictment on our record."
Haslett said he was replacing Brooks with Todd Bouman because of the Saints' 3-10 record.
"I think the team will rally around Todd," Haslett said. "This was the time to see if Todd could handle the situation."
Brooks, struggling through his worst year in seven seasons, said he didn't argue when told of Haslett's decision.
"I just took it like a man," Brooks said. "I accept it. Ain't nothing I can do about it anyway."
Brooks thinks he'll be traded or released by the Saints in the offseason. He has two years remaining on a contract that is scheduled to pay him more than $12 million total.
"If I don't play another down for the New Orleans Saints, I've done some tremendous things for this organization," he said.
Brooks complained in the past week about the team's working conditions since Hurricane Katrina displaced the Saints to San Antonio in September.
The team had based its training operations in the Alamodome until the NCAA Volleyball Tournament moved into the facility last week. The Saints had to move walkthrough practices to a downtown parking lot, and players dress in a high school baseball field before practice.
Brooks pinned some of the blame for feeling shuffled around on team owner Tom Benson during an interview televised Sunday on CBS Sports.
"If (Benson) sells the team, he walks away with 600 million (dollars)," Brooks said. "I don't think a couple million would hurt to make this team feel very comfortable every week. So I'm more than sure he could have done a lot more."
Haslett denied the decision to bench Brooks was forced from Benson as a reaction to the comments.
"It was an on-the-field decision the whole way," Haslett said. He said he told Benson about the decision.
Brooks said he thinks it's possible his comments could have ruffled enough feathers in the organization to cause his removal.
"But no one in this organization has spoken to me about the comments I made," Brooks said. "I don't take back the comments I did make.
"(Haslett's) word was it's due to the record. No need to argue."
The Saints play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Baton Rouge, La.
The decision will end Brooks' franchise record for consecutive starts by a quarterback at 82.
Brooks has thrown 17 interceptions and 13 touchdown passes this season, marking the first time in his career he's had more interceptions than scoring passes. He also has a career-worst 70.0 quarterback rating.
Bouman is in his eighth season. A backup who did not play his first four seasons, Bouman played in six games -- three as a starter -- for the Minnesota Vikings during the 2001 and 2002 seasons. He signed with the Saints in 2003.
He has completed five of 13 passes this season with one interception that was returned for a touchdown.
