Anyone who would blame this loss on Romo needs their head examined

Nearly double any other qb. That alone should tell you something.

At the very least it supports my claim that games like today happen far too often. Which you seemed to strongly disagree with but have nothing to back it up.

It's meaningless without context and it should set off all of your alarms, but you're too obsessed with Romo to see it. First off, how many qbs have even been starting as long as Romo since 2006? 5? How many teams play as many close games as we do year after year? You have a brain, use it.

Are we the only 2 that can see it?

All these morons are so focused on 36 points they cant see what the problem was. I mean how could anyone that has even casually paid attention to this defense be surprised that a 23 pt was not enough. The offense was given a 23 point gift wrapped lead - that actually should have been more if we hadnt settled for FG's so often - and couldnt do enough in 30 mins of football to keep the defense off of the field.

Idiotic coaching gets most of the blame. They know how crappy this defense is and SHOULD know what they need to do to preserve a gift wrapped win sitting in their laps.

Everyone wants to point the finger to one thing but the truth is Jerry deserves all the blame. He is the sole reason we have a bad culture here. It's like a poison the effects the whole team. Coaching is bad, offense is bad, defense is horrendous, (partly due to Kiffin messing up the scheme with something that was outdated) and on and on. I feel sorry for the young guys. Frederick, Murray, Dez, etc

I feel bad for some of the older players, too. Witten, Ware, Romo...these guys have had their careers wasted by Jerry the GM and his pet project Jason Garrett.

None of that matters. I said games like today happen far too often. Thats the point. So I showed you a stat to prove how often it happens. Plain and simple. I'm not going to try to talk about the ins and outs of the stat, that's irrelevant to my point. Keep up.

Don't feel too bad for them. They've all been paid very, very well by Jerry.

You failed miserably. As a matter of fact, you proved the opposite. 7 sounds pretty good over 7 years with all of the close games we play and all of the games that Romo started. Excellent work.

Or perhaps their opinion simply differs from yours? Someone disagreeing with you doesn't make them blind.
Not necessarily. But the ones who refuse to put any blame on romo for anything are, in fact, blind homers. Ya know, the ones who try to put tony up there with aikman's and the greats.

Saw this little tid bit on the notes on the ESPN box score.

"This is the 7th time Tony Romo has thrown a pick in the 4th quarter or overtime with his team tied or leading by 1 possession. That is nearly twice as many as any other QB since 2006 (when Romo became the starter in Dallas)."

This doesn't even take into account INTs when behind. Wow.

A more telling stat would be int % per pass attempt. Knowing ESPN I'm going to go out on a limb (not really) and say the stat is skewed, majorly. Skewed because I'd be willing to bet Romo has played in those slated games much more then any other QB, because his team sucks.

7 sounds good huh? Nearly double any other qb. That's not good no matter how you try to spin it.

How many of those starting 5 have won more than 1 playoff game in their career? How many fail to get above .500 4 consecutive seasons? You have a brain as well. Lay off the koolaid

I haven't seen a single poster trying to put Romo on the same pedestal as Aikman or any other truly great quarterback.

I criticize Romo when he deserves it but as someone who never got to see Aikman or any quarterback before him I get terrified when I think about this team without Romo. I don't see Jerry being able to find someone better. I just don't. Once Romo leaves we'll officially be the Dallas Raiders.

The future may prove to be brighter than I suspect but I doubt it.

Cowboys fan here. Romo needs defending like a moose needs a hat rack.

Hey Percy, by any chance do you have the data available to see Romo's int % in the 4th QTR/OT when his team is tied or leading by 1 possession? I'm curious as to how much ESPN is trying to miss lead people, because I'd be willing to beat the stat is majorly skewed haha.

It tells you there has been a lot of turnover at the QB position around the league since he became a starter and that we have played a lot of close games.

How many of them have a real GM, HC and don't have to put up 40 points a game for their team to have a chance?

What if he played 3 times as many games?
Nearly double any other qb and I don't think he's played double the games of anyone else.

He just throws picks at the wrong time. This is a known fact. Been this way for years. Whether you want to admit it or not. This is the part that matters, not the stat.
