Anyone wish we had kept Todd Haley?

Granted, he's got some major weapons at AZ, but he's really doing a great job of using those weapons. Their receivers are > than ours (at least this past season with an injured RW who wasn't with us in training camp), but I like our TE and RB's over theirs. Warner is also having a great year again, and I'm happy for him.

Haley just shows much more inventiveness and killer instinct than Garrett does, IMO.

I wonder if TO wishes we had kept Todd Haley .... ?

I wish we had a real GM and owner not so stupid as to discipline Haley PUBLICALLY when TO was running his mouth at him acting like the whining toddler he is.

Garrett reminds me of a young Lion cub, they learn how to pounce and fight early with their parents then by 3 years of age they are able to make their kill (although they never hunt alone). Right now hes just learning the ropes for 2-3 years but i expect next year hes ready to make his first kill.

Thats what stings the most about 08, that the talent on this team was in place to get it done this season, but for whatever reason, this team felt it could "develop" the three stooges.

When you get 2 mouths visibly squawking like Haley and T.O. then you expect the coach to be smarter or more constructive about it. By the way the Cowboys chose NOT to discipline Haley. Haley has had a history of altercations including getting into with Parcells on the sidelines in one particular game. Parcells physically fist shoved Haley to make him back off over whatever hissy fit.

So before you conveniently glorify and deify Haley at the expense of Jerry Jones because of Haley's current success with Arizona at least qualify that Haley back in his Cowboys years wasn't the easiest coach to work with and loved to run his mouth.

I don't begrudge Haley, he moved on and appears to have become a better coach with Arizona so that is good to see. In fact I noticed his restraint dealing with Bolden.

But most certainly Haley didn't handle things very well several years ago when he was an assistant coach at Valley Ranch.

I bet part of why Boldin wanted out of Arizona is because of Haley. Either Haley has had bad luck to work with the biggest primadonna wide receivers like Keyshawn, TO and Boldin or Haley is a big jerk.

Much of Arizona's success has come from their offensive line. They have given Warner time to sit in the pocket and Fitzgerald to run crossing routes that take time to develop. That offensive line has really come together the last few weeks.

I really don't have a comment about this. Todd and I are child hood friends and still are pretty close but I don't agree with what he did while in Dallas and I'm pretty dissapointed in him.

With that said, I hope he learned his lesson because he could make a fine HC in this league some day.

I'm glad for his success.

Right now he is saying, Up yours Parcells, Up yours T.O.

Excellent response. Perhaps Haley also deserves some credit for keeping that talented line on their toes or jelling.

It is refreshing to see posting objectivity especially knowing an NFL professional that you have been lifelong friends with. We know Haley can be fiery and that can be a good thing in controlled situations. He most definitely showed restraint dealing with Boldin on the sidelines.

There is no denying he knows what he is doing on the offensive side of the ball and has a good feel for countering aggressive defenses.

Why? They havent proven to be any better than us offensively. He;s the falvor of the day now because his team got to a super bowl.

Guess what? When Romo learns to manage a game like Warner in terms of not throwing the ball into double and triple coverage so much, Garrett will look like a genius.

And more killer instinct? Are you kidding?

Lets not get too carried away here. Whisenhunt was an offensive coordinator before taking that HC job. The offense is more his than Haley's.

There will no doubt be no exchange of Christmas cards in this lifetime between those 3 although really Todd has no one to blame but himself for straining what was a good relationship between Parcells and himself.

This is true, but I think the value of a coordinator shows itself by their play calls. Right now Haley is calling the plays and doing a decent job.

Todd Haley was leaking stuff to the media when he was here in Dallas.

I dont care how good a coach he is, I would have fired his arse so quick for doing crap like that.

Just like Dallas did last week;)

I wonder how many reports with "unnamed Cowboys source" under it we will get from Werder now that Stewart is gone.

Again, get down to execution and avoiding stupid plays by the QB, fumbles by the RB, dropped balls by the star WR

The only thing wrong with Garrett's playcalling is he (and the QB) have been bullied into force feeding the ball to one particular player, at all costs.
