Rookie receivers generally have a minimal impact. It’s the hardest position historically to make an impact as a rookie.

He probably won’t get more than 15-20 snaps tonight.

All of that is true. However, speed plays. He's too skinny to play full time anyway, but when he's in, you'll have to play your S's deep which opens other stuff up.

Key on Waller and Barkley, if the kid starts getting looks THEN change your keys.. DO NOT leave Waller or Barkley alone to worry about a rook WR from the start..make him make plays first. The other 2 we KNOW can make plays.

Lucky for us he has a spindly frame and no apparent lateral agility.

Thats a great resume, we still need to key on Barkley and Waller first and make the kid make plays before we change our keys.. not saying the kid cant but we KNOW Barkley and Waller will do damage if you dont cover them.

All of that is true. One trick pony. However, he is not just fast, he is the fastest in the NFL. Does that mean he can play football at an NFL level? Absolutely not.

Ran the 40 at the combine w/ a hamstring issue. Once again, do your research dude!!!!!!!!
Right! He ran a 4.40 at combine because of tightness but didn’t run at his pro day despite the coming draft being the most important thing ever in his life!!!

Here is his write up from The Draft Network, who is usually pretty good in their evaluations.

Jalin Hyatt NFL Draft Scouting Report

WR, Tennessee Volunteers

Jalin Hyatt emerged as one of the most dynamic receivers in college football during the 2022 season, which earned him the Biletnikoff Award. He is the first player in Tennessee history to receive the award.

Hyatt is a nimble and explosive athlete with easy acceleration. He has the speed necessary to win most foot races and get behind defenders. Hyatt blends his speed with good route timing that enables him to create leverage and run away from coverage. I like his ability to adjust routes on the fly and provide an available target to his quarterback. Hyatt has showcased soft and reliable hands with good tracking ability to maximize his opportunities to win down the field. When he is operating after the catch, Hyatt is twitchy, elusive, and explosive, which makes him a dangerous threat. Hyatt’s ability to win deep sets up the ability to snap off routes and work back down the stem.

When it comes to concerns, there will be a noteworthy transition ahead for Hyatt coming out of the spread offense at Tennessee to what will be on his plate at the next level. There is so much space available for him to release into and adjust to coverage, so his processing and timing will be challenged at the next level. Hyatt has a slender build and won’t be known for his physicality or play strength at the position—although I like the way he competes as a blocker and with the ball in his hands. At Tennessee, Hyatt has very little production that doesn’t come from the slot and his release package has yet to be truly challenged.

Hyatt has the makings of an impact weapon at the next level that is a math-changer for his offense given the attention his skill set demands and how it can impact spacing. While he may not project as a high-volume No. 1 target, he should be a dynamic No. 2 that makes the No. 1 even better.

Top Reasons to Buy In:

  • Explosive athletic profile
  • Vertical receiving skill set
  • Elusiveness in and out of breaks
  • Ball skills
Top Reasons For Concern:

  • Transition from extreme spread, tempo offense
  • One year of meaningful production
  • Slender build
  • Developing route tree and ability to win from more alignments
Size (NFL Combine):

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 176 lbs

Arm Length: 32 1/2”

Hand Size: 9”

Athletic Testing (NFL Combine):

40-yard Dash: 4.40s

Vertical Jump: 40”

Broad Jump: 11′ 3”

Short-Shuttle: 0.00s

Three-Cone: TBD

Bench Reps: TBD

Ideal Role: No. 2/3 wide receiver

Scheme Fit: Spread, 11-personnel heavy

Prospect Comparison: Will Fuller (2016 NFL Draft)

TDN Consensus Grade: 84.00/100 (Second-Round Value)

Waller, Barkley, and Jones (running ability) will be the main threats. The others may get a catch or two but nothing significant imo.

Not exactly. We have Lamb and Cooks. I think the guy can play. But he'll struggle this year, imo...he's not dialed in and still only has that one gimmick go deep route.

The guy can run, there's always that one player it seems that gets that big play against us and is wide open, or is able to make several of our guys miss tackles. What are your thoughts on him

The rookie WR
Tyker is out....dont like that...i dont know if they use Bass or Asim but they must step up.....looks like all teams in NFC east will win before Cowboys game

its up to Dak and Big Mike to have game scheme on offense that helps to confuse G-Women and our defense just go light them up....hope QB for Giants

makes huge mistakes to start....still sticking with Quad PLAT all the way....i have to check weather...Dak does not do good in rain

Doubtful tags. Players don’t typically go from doubtful to playing.

Tyler traveled with the team. But Tyron Smith has done this before.

He won’t be magically healed and they will need him for the long haul.
Tyler out...dont know about Wilson
