Look back for a moment at the hissy fit Jerry had after watching little Danny ride away with Jerry's home playoff game purse in the season finale last year. All that talk of "uncomfortable", firing staff, including coach's brothers, yanking playcalling duties, and rehiring dudes older than himself.

Now, imagine this scenario playing out over the next 10 days.

This Sunday, Washington beats Philly, and New York beats Green Bay without Rodgers.....quite doable.

Then next week, the Giants beat Dallas in New York, and the Commanders beat San Fran in Washington....not as doable, but conceivable.

Your NFC East standings would be:

Dallas 5-6
Philly 5-6
New York 5-6
Washington 5-6

This, after the Giants started 0-6, Washington 1-4, and Philly 1-3. The Cowboys would have perhaps the toughest schedule remaining of the four, and could finish dead last.

Jerry would need therapy, and perhaps even more plastic surgery.

I would rather imagine this....

The Commanders beat the Eagles this weekend (Commanders 4-6; Eagles 5-6).

Dallas beats New York next weekend (tough but doable) and moves to 6-5 and is coming home against Oakland on Thanksgiving.

The Giants fall to AT BEST 4-7 (IF they beat GB this weekend). And the Deadskins lose to SF.

Your NFC East Standings would be:

Dallas 6-5
Philly 5-6
New York 4-7
Commanders 4-7

We would be in a great situation with the Raiders at home on Thanksgiving.

All of this is very possible. Wonder if it would be enough to make Jerry clean house. Sure hope so. 3 and 1/2 half years of .500 football is MORE than enough of a sample to see we have a .500 football coaching staff. I know Jerry is part of the problem and doesn't make it easy for coaches to succeed, but knowing he is not giving up the GM hat we have to hope he steps in **** and hits on a guy who is capable of overcoming the GM.

Hardly.

Just more "man in the mirror" speeches.

Whoever wins this division doesn't change the fact it's the worse in the NFL.

If the Cowboys do not they cannot say they did not have their chances.

I will say, I have watched the Giants on their 3 game streak here, and they still stink, they just have played teams that stink worse.

This is an deeply unsettling scenario Erod, one that I'd strongly prefer that you hadn't brought up.

Can we set up two separate forums for folks who prefer 'Blissful Ignorance' vs 'Real Possibility of Happening'?

We have been a .500 team on average since our last title. I wish it was just the last three years.

Timing is everything in the NFL.

Packers with Aaron Rodgers are a super-scary team when you consider how dominating their running game is. Without Aaron Rodgers and they are a bottom 5-7 team.

Of course the Giants will get the Packers without Aaron Rodgers this week and the Cowboys will get the Packers with Aaron Rodgers.

If we don't get better on both sides of the ball I don't see us making the playoffs and if we did it would be painful to watch. If we improve on both sides of the ball I think we would make the playoffs and have a chance to do something. If I had to predict, the former is most likely.

The offense has the potential to improve. The defense, IMHO, is shot to hell and done for.

My reply is like a double edged sword. On one hand, I would love this scenario. Any national embarrassment and humiliation that comes to Jerry Jones is welcomed.

On the other hand, my Cowboys are 5-6. Not welcomed.

oooh, sorry, when I read the thread title I thought silicone injections, facelifts and scotch were going to be banned under this new Healthcare thingy. Made me feel sorry for ole Jerruh for a second. Proceed. o_O

I think if Lee, Wilcox, Ware, Claiborne, Hatcher, and Durant made it back they could be OK.

They tore 'em up at Love Field.

He was trying to rent a car and they just cut them up in front of him, told him to pay his bills.

Gives me the chills just thinking about it. What a tragic day.
