I have had both Samsung phones and tablets and I prefer apple...

I am the opposite.

You could not pay me to trade my Note8 for my wife's IphoneX....well...you would have to pay me a great amount of money maybe lol.

Also same with my tablet vs her Ipad.

She would get mad because her Ipad would get slow.
So I would go in and clean out her internet history, cookies, cache and so on. Or do a complete factory reset.
It would seem to help for a few days only for her to start complaining again. It got to the point she quit using it.

Later it came out that APPLE was intentionally making their IOS so their older items would go slower in order to try and get the consumers to get new Apple products.

Very fair points. Apple did address the slowing down when a new OS is released. I believe they no longer will be doing that. Everyone has there own preference. The Samsungs I owned were quality products no doubt. In my case I'm just so used to apple OS I'd just rather stick with them...

I have had both so I used to like my iphone.

But now if the wife or her parents need me to fix a setting or something on their iphones it drives me crazy.

Just the lack of something as simple as a back button drives me crazy.

Also for the most part APPLE used to be ahead of the pack but now android and samsung seem to come out with cool options and ideas and 2-3 years later Iphone will use that idea and the apple customers are acting like it is the coolest new idea ever.

If Steve Jobs were alive today there would never have been an Apple + size phone. Yet that has really took off in the apple world and helped them. I know 4-5 people personally that had to have the iphone X (wife included) but once they got it were wishing they got a Apple + phone. I tried to tell the wife her X screen was as big if not bigger than the + screens but because the phone itself was smaller she wishes she would have gotten another + phone...to the point she now uses her Iphone 6 + more than her X.

I also refuse, until I no longer have an option, to get a phone without a micro SD card. There is no way a phone company should charge the amount they do for extra storage when you can get an SD card for so much cheaper to add to the phone.

I've had a few iPhones, and I can admit, they are solid phones. My issue with Apple is that A) they are too proprietary B) It all feels the same. The iPhone X software is pretty much the exact same as the iPhone 3G I had in 2009.

I'm still using a iPhone 6. I like apple for their great customer service and I much prefer OSX to windows. I have also had 3 Macs ... the first 2 I had for 10 and 8 years.

I finally gave up on my 6S, it was so screwed up and unpredictable I entertained the idea of Android but decided to give it one more try with an 8S, been great so far.

The only thing I have left that is not Apple is my PC and it's due but it was suggested that switching platforms might be a hassle since I've been Windows and there are posters here that know a hell of a lot more about puters than I do.

But ya know, ya just get used to stuff. Ya weight the hassle of change and learning something new against the possibility that after all that, ya won't be any happier.

One of my buds in Dallas was our IT chief and has his own company and helps me with my PC,. because he doesn't do Apple at all, for free and keeps me on the latest stuff because he's a Dell and Microsoft beta guy. But he's getting ready to hang it up and is suggesting I switch to Apple because of the customer service, if I do have a problem. Which is his way of telling me when he retires, he's retired.

I don't blame him, he's the go to for his family and friends and that has to be a pain because they don't want to bother him during his business hours.

I'm sure your grandkids can help you with any problems you might have with the computer, except maybe when it freezes on one of those Amish porn sites. These laptops are made to be replaced every few years, I think, just like everything else these days, so maintenance is pretty much "Just buy a new one".

I don't like laptops, I prefer the desktop because I can't think of any place I'd want to take a laptop. But they do come in handy to serve my need not to be bothered by people at Starbucks.

The best thing about the Amish porn sites is that it's all shot by candlelight, very scene setting and romantic. Kinda get tired of the beards though.....on everybody.
