Been watching the Cowboys for 40 years and I think I always took for granted our legendary players.

Parsons looked so good his rookie year, people were throwing around the LT tag, which is not used lightly.

I wasn’t ready to go all in after his rookie season with so much disappointment lately and I was bothered by some of the social media and interview hype from him in the offseason. Was afraid we had another guy ready to put on the shades and bask in the Hollywood spotlight.

But folks — I think it’s official, we have the BEST defensive player in the NFL RIGHT NOW on our roster. 4 sacks his first 2 games his second season. As others have pointed out, his impressive pass rush stats are with far fewer attempts than the average Edge. He can run with anyone on the field. Physical skills are just freaky to watch. And his intensity this season off the field and pre-game has been great to watch. I can already see him becoming a leader. He makes so many players on this D better.

Enjoy this man while you can. For you young fans, someone like this does not come around often. I’m just glad that we drafted him.
Parsons is off to a Hall of Fame start but let’s remember Zeke had a similar start as a running back. Let’s enjoy him for now, He opens up so many plays for his teammates.

Sigh. Who was the last Cowboys defender with the ability to take over and dominate games, Ware? Well he wasn't as good as Micah and he was drafted 15 years ago. So these guys don't come along very often and if he didn't fall in dumb and dumbers lap we wouldn't even be talking about it.

Nice post! From the title, I was expecting to read, "because he's out of here as soon as his rookie contract is up!" lol

This team is going to break him if they keep having him rush the passer so much. It’s fun to watch but he won’t have a long career. He isn’t built for it.

I would money ball him on the basis that he most likely gets injured at some point...

Take the 10 First Round Picks for him now and wish him the best in the future
You could conceivably replace him with 10 first rounders and be worse off then you were.

I guarantee you he’ll stay healthier than the Watt Boys. They play wild, flail their arms around, and all kinds of crazy, it gets them hurt a lot. Parsons play a much more solid technique game. And playing edge is also going to keep him alive longer than the abuse a traditional inside linebacker suffers.

Why do you say that? He seems to be built specifically for that.
You are right most DEs are 250 and so is Micah. DTs are much bigger. Donald for example is 280. I just don’t think he’ll have a long career if we keep moving him around to rush the passer. I hope I’m wrong.

He looked injured, if he ever goes down so does our pass rush

When he turned down going on the television show, I knew he'd continue having a great season.

That's really a crappy show anyway, and it's beneath Parsons.

I appreciate him :omg:

I got money that Parsons wrecks the single-season sack record this year (22). I mean not yet. But I may throw down on that one. It's going to happen.

I was thinking this earlier.

This is a special player. I mean, no hits on Ware but this is kind of what we wanted Ware to be as a player. As great as Ware was he could get schemed out of portions of games and wasn't always a threat to destroy every play he was involved in. Parsons is.

This is a career trajectory that's going to land him up there with transcendent Cowboys like Lilly, White and Renfro.

Yeh enjoy it before NFL makes a new "Micah" rule just like they did with several other Cowboys (Irvin, ESmith, Eric Williams, Roy Williams, etc..).

Micah Rule: "Personal foul. 15 yards. Roughing the Offense. You are not allowed to make moves that can give OLimen and QBs nightmares for life."
