Been watching the Cowboys for 40 years and I think I always took for granted our legendary players.

Parsons looked so good his rookie year, people were throwing around the LT tag, which is not used lightly.

I wasn’t ready to go all in after his rookie season with so much disappointment lately and I was bothered by some of the social media and interview hype from him in the offseason. Was afraid we had another guy ready to put on the shades and bask in the Hollywood spotlight.

But folks — I think it’s official, we have the BEST defensive player in the NFL RIGHT NOW on our roster. 4 sacks his first 2 games his second season. As others have pointed out, his impressive pass rush stats are with far fewer attempts than the average Edge. He can run with anyone on the field. Physical skills are just freaky to watch. And his intensity this season off the field and pre-game has been great to watch. I can already see him becoming a leader. He makes so many players on this D better.

Enjoy this man while you can. For you young fans, someone like this does not come around often. I’m just glad that we drafted him.

And to think. There were people here who DIDNT want to draft him. LOL

I bet all three of those guys are really feeling foolish now……
It was much more than 3. And one of them brags about always being right and how little we all know about football compared to him.

J/K…..I just know there weren’t that a many saying it. We have a few crockpots here that will say anything to get a rise from the rest of us……and a few that actually believe the crazy stuff they’re postin

I hate this feeling but the feeling I have is that the Cowboys will waste another great players career with no success in the playoffs.

Everything on display. Brains. Quick moves. Underrated strength. Got him off balance and then single handedly turned him around. Freak.

He truly is a 1 of 1 kind of football player. He is the Joker in the deck that can turn fortunes and cause instant chaos.

He has to be terrifying to line up against.

When can you place a 5th year option on a player?

When can a 1st round pick demand contract negotiations?

No less than 3 or so #1 picks. He is a HOF talent.

I think you are in the ballpark. If someone called and offered you three top 10 draft picks, I think that would be hard to turn down. If a team that is expecting to compete for a super bowl were to call and offer you three first round picks for him, I’m not sure that would be enough.

Here’s the other side of that coin though. Right now, Parsons is a game changing, game wrecker. Teams MUST account for him. But what if he gets hurt? Will he be the same force?

A player like that is also going to get a massive contract. Seldom do players who get paid massive deals ever live up to that contract, even if they continue to give 100 percent. Age and injuries pile up over time.

Very few teams are willing to give up a Parsons, but in truth and in fact, most of the time the law of probabilities says that you should take the three first round picks (and change if you can get it) in exchange for the player.

I think NFL teams should negotiate the right to swap picks like they do in the NBA.

You're likely right. But what fun is it to have something great and trade it for an unknown commodity?

If you see a must have QB- I'm listening. But even those are not sure things these days.

Funny how no one says a player is underpaid. The moment the rookie contract is up, watch the turn of events on Micah......on this board.

There are not many Pro athletes that are underpaid. Even the lowest paid makes more than 99% of the population.

Many of the sacks other guys got were a direct result of his rush as well.

Based on video of all but one of the sacks (Brian Baldinger's breakdown, I believe), five of them were caused by Parsons (one by Armstrong, one by LVE, one by Fowler). The only one where Parsons didn't flush Burrow from the pocket was when Cincy tried to block Armstrong with a tight end and Armstrong plowed over him.

If only you could make a special election to take a certain amount of a future contract towards your current cap. I guess technically you can because you can carry cap space forward.....
