People miss this part... The TE makes a great play and prevens him from falling, but AP holds himself up with his legs as well, with his butt like 2 inches from the floor and has to dig to propel hs legs forward to pull the defendors into the end-zone. When you look at it from the top angle, I'd esimate that portions happens around 3 yards away from the end-zone.

Was AP going to fall without the TE there? Yeah, he was.

This was exactly my point when folks were hearing that we paid extra attention to forcing turnovers in the offseason. You can't "force" turnovers, you can capitalize on someone's mistake. But when you try and force turnovers like Heath did and someone doesn't make a mistake, that's exactly what happens. You spend all your energy trying to rip the ball out, only to see the RB gain an extra 5 yards or so because you're not actually tackling. That is fundamentally poor football -- looks good for the cameras but when all is said and done, that type of behavior nets more bad defensive plays than good. Fly to the football, hit hard and make sure tackles. If you play like that, the turnovers will come.

Hammer meets nail.

Heath was in great position to make a great play. Heath picked AP off his feet and all he had to do is keep driving his legs until AP got on the ground. Heath fail to put him on the ground and decides to unwrap his arms and go for the strip. If heath keeps driving his feet, no touchdown is scored on that play.

Nothing was was superhuman about that run, we just had a safety give up on the tackle and go for the strip instead of driving his feet. Nothing More Nothing Less

Man, listening to different radio guys describe it, it just got more and more legendary as the day wore on. By 4 o'clock, he was carrying 5 guys on his back into the end zone while 5 other guys were trying to rip the ball out. All this after stopping his body in midair 2 inches from the ground and regaining his footing. If you look closely, you can see the cape coming un-tucked from his pants.

AP had clear sailing right up to Heath and lots of room around Heath to run. In 99.9% of those situations, AP will put some sick move on the defender and walk untouched into the end zone or he'll simply run right over the safety. Neither of those things happened. Yes, the ultimate outcome was not as hoped, but it was a 0.1% kind of play by Heath. He stopped him dead in his tracks in the open field.

Yes, he did stop him dead in his tracks, but that was only half the play. He needs to hang onto Peterson's legs until the play is whistled over.

Absolutely. But I don't think it diminishes what he did up to that point. That was a heck of an open-field almost tackle. LOL.

AP is a joy to watch. Coming out of Oklahoma I had my doubts about the guy, however, the doubts were clearly unfounded.

I honestly think he is is the most violent RB I've seen since Earl Campbell.

M. Lynch is just as violent, if not more.

Awesome run, if Murray did the same thing you're riding his nuts. Since a opposing RB did it some of you guys are downplaying it. IMO

Seriously, there is nothing awesome about another player dragging you into the endzone cause you got stoned. If it was Murry, I would just be happy he scored, I wouldn't run around crowing it was a top 5 run in NFL history.

No offense but Health made that a highlight run by not securing the tackle...

Ap or ad is a truly great back. I wonder if we had him how much would we feature him in this offense

He'd probably split 12 carries a game with the other 3 rbs on the roster.

The play should have been blown dead. Another player cannot aid the running back in the act of running. Players can only move piles. Once he caught and lifted AP up, the play should have been over.

Best superhuman run I've ever seen.

What? Are you serious? The guy was getting ready to be body slammed Ware-Marshal Faulk style, except his teammate kept him from falling and assisted him in getting into the end zone. Furthermore, if that was the best run you have ever seen, then you have not been watching enough football games.

IIRC it wasn't just a blow dead, its a penalty. You can push a pile, but you can't physically aid the ball carrier. Just one more thing that officiating crew missed or miss called.

Not sure why some see this and some don't.
