Archer: Cap space coming next week

Just about time for Jerry and Stephen to start making moves.

Cowboys going to be on fire when FA begins. Just hope it's not this kind!!!

well that sucks! Terrence Steele returning in a prominent role is a bummer
I think if the LT situation was more stable they would do it. Passing on a cap savings of 14m relative to his performance is criminal.

Also don’t forget that they are proud of themselves for ‘finding’ that UDFA…the insane second deal they gave him is clear evidence.

It’s insane how they fight with their top players but hand dudes like him no hassle over payment.

I just wish all this cap money being kicked down the road has a win now benefit.
Dak's cap hit alone is 74 mil plus this year.

It will be interesting to see the future cap hits on the big contracts like Dak, CD and Bland.

Meanwhile they're "hoping to reach" the playoffs after missing 2 years in a row.

So, nothing like being cap strapped while not even being a playoff team.

Good stuff.
Cowboys!

They can sign whoever they want. They aren't cap strapped.

He didn’t exactly hold the offense back. He won’t win every pass rep, but he is a good run blocker and a good starting RT for the money.

And this team doesn't even have 1 good one.

Their TE is mediocre. Their RB room could use some juice if you're not going to actually play Blue. The WRs wont be as strong if Pickens sits out everything through the summer.

We're loaded for bear on offense.
Yeah but they “draft well.”

Wonder what the fat man’s boss or whoever is up to these days. That’s one of many examples as we know, but when a guy says that he knows that “football is going to finance his rap career” right out of the gate, something is very wrong.

But….after having to settle for Parsons in round one they HAD to have a corner in round two. Clearly that’s the one that bites me in the behind more than some other fun Jerry second rounders.

I think it's the right move for now. We have too much to do on defense to create a hole on offense. If we were sure that Nathan Thomas could fill that hole, that would be different. But what we should do is have a three-way competition for now between Guyton, Thomas and Steele for the starting spots. Throw Cornelius into the mix as well.

I agree with Klayton Adams that we don't want to weaken the interior by moving Tyler Smith unless we have to.

I'm a bit confused about FO ability to spend in FA now that Pickens has been tagged.

I read on this forum, by a few, that this will hamstring the FO ability to make moves when FA starts.

Can someone clear this up for me? I'd really appreciate it.

They're not paying any attention to offense. They will completely fixate on defense so that this time next year they can be surprised that the offense declined.
Then the offense will be the problem going in the off season next year lol

I hear ya man, I'm the board's biggest Guyton critic and posted as such several times. That's not even mentioning Steele.

All the rest you say here holds true as well.

Steele IS a hole

Steele will be better next year another year removed from the injury
