Only thing that would give me pause is the diva act he pulled last year in Cleveland over workload, and the fact that his old team, the Texans, has a glaring need at RB, and hasn't brought him in.

Maybe he's looking for too much money. I wouldn't be willing to give him anything more than we gave McFadden.

Yep. It didn't take long at all to see why he won't be making the team. He wasn't hitting the holes anywhere close to where he needed to be doing.

Plus, throw in the fact that apparently anyone on the field, no matter how small they are, can arm tackle him and he won't get an extra inch.

He just looked weak and didn't run within the confines of the blocking scheme.

Bye-Bye Lake. Come back when you are bigger than a pond.

Frankly, the arm tackle thing is my primary concern with Randle. There are times he broke tackles last year, but there were other times when he was taken down easily in comparison to Murray. Doesn't mean he won't do some things better than Murray, but will that be enough to make the running game effective?

AsthmaField, you've always been pretty logical and level-headed, so I have to ask: Are you wanting them to make that move right now?

No. But if they did, I would be ok with it because I do really like Mason. And I think it would take a 2nd or 3rd.

I would prefer them to do what they likely will, which is either go with what they have... or take a cut from someone else's roster.

How about a 7 and Hanna?

We need someone consistent. Maybe not GOAT on any play but consistent. I was so hopeful that Gus was that sleeper always there consistent Donald brown guy. Maybe he still can. Haven't heard much on injury severity yet. I think he hurt it on the nice run to the outside on the drive we scored. And he roughed it out.

Literally the only FA Rb's who havent been linked to the Cowboys previously are:

Shonn Greene
Knowshon Moreno
Ben Tate

And I thought at one point Shonn Greene's name was mentioned.

We were linked to Shonn Greene by I believe Fisher before, and we brought in Tate for a workout

I have a slight hope that Dallas might still end up trading with St. Louis for Tre Mason.

I know, I know... St. Louis won't want to do that until they know Gurley is going to be able to carry the load this year, but Fisher loves to trade and stockpile draft picks. Plus, the Rams (under Fisher) and the Cowboys seem to always work well together on trades.

For the right player(s) and/or pick(s), I think Fisher would do it.

Oh, alright... you all are probably right... it is a pipe dream.

I can hope though.

Here is a question. Would you include Randle in a trade for Mason?

Tate can play.

He ran into an offensive collapse last year in Houston and they moved away from running because they fell behind so often.

In a balanced attack like ours..he could see a renewed career.

Tough runner..north south and lowers his shoulder.

Do it.

He played for 2 teams last year, neither was Houston. He's always had durability issue too...pass
