If we needed LB help there are two reasons he's not signed

1 money, whether he wanted to much or wanted to see what Philly would give

2 health, he didn't pass with the drs.

Pretty simple and perfectly understandable...

I bet he has a bad health issue and was not worth the risk
Word is, he spoke to 2-3 teams and wanted to visit all of them before making any decision.

He will be a Cowboy before he will be an Eagle, Eagles don’t value linebackers, so it won’t be hard or expensive for the Cowboys to win his services.

Does the amount he gets paid lessen what he gets from the Colts? If so, then I wouldn't think the amount matters. But if you could make $6 million from the Colts and $6 million from another team, wouldn't you take that over $2 million from another team.
Yes ....any amount he makes with a new team offsets the Colt's figure

Why do you think he would be a cowboys before an eagle? If it's not hard or expensive for the cowboys, it also won't be for the eagles. The eagles don't put money into the lb's and this will be a fairly cheap deal, otherwise he would of been claimed off waivers.

If he were to get the same deal from both teams, why would he chose the probable #5 seed Cowboys over the probable #1 or #2 seed Eagles?

Professional athletes that play a game in Philadelphia have PA income tax and Phila. City income tax taken out of their game check.

No state income tax and Philadelphia is a crap hole.

Dont let him leave and visit the Eagles
Apparently, he's headed to Philly after a deal couldn't be had in Dallas and we all know how this is going to be played out. Philly's brain trust will work their magic and sign a player that they don't even need. Once again JJ and his band of idiots have proven that they don't have a clue on how to build a championship team..................

Or, he cares more about his family’s financial well being and takes the offer that gives him the best chance at current and future compensation. I’m sure his representation will encourage that. I seriously doubt 28 year old NFL players care about the particular attributes of the 30 NFL cities.

As a vested veteran, Leonard's contract salary for 2023 was guaranteed by Indianapolis. They are on the hook to pay him $872,222 per week for every week of the season - even after they cut him. It almost doesn't make a difference what salary he signs for with another team because the Colts have to make up the difference between what his contract salary was on a per game basis, and whatever another team might pay him. If another team pays him the veteran minimum, which is $60K per week, the Colts have to pony up the other $812,222. So, salary isn't going to be the issue.

Playing time will be the issue. Leonard likely wants a guaranteed amount of snaps, so he can highlight his skills to get a new contract in 2024. And he likely wants to sign with a team on a trajectory to get into the playoffs and have a chance to get to the Super Bowl. Money isn't the deciding factor here.

He would pay less in taxes.

You answered your own question Dallas will offer a more attractive package because they value lbs more than the Eagles. This is a relatively young player who may be on his last chance to earn $ due to his health situation not a old vet who’s made his money now just looking for a chance at a ring.
