Quote for (highly probable) truth.

This is crybaby nonsense. This is a what have you done for me lately league and Dak has led this team to a 7-1 record atop the NFC. He is breaking NFL rookie records left and right but he Romo supporters are sticking their head in the sand arguing hypotheticals and what ifs.

People aren't turning on Romo the way some comments would lead you to believe. We have just accepted Dak has this team running smoothly and is giving Dallas no reason to stop the momentum in favor of someone that would require us to alter the gameplan that has been working.

Okay.

Edit: On second thought I should add that everyone (literally) never share the exact same opinion about any topic. Sometimes some people share the same opinion. Other people have drastically different opinions about the same topic. Some opinions are similar to others but not the same. That's why I said okay.

So "Tony's team" now means "big...positive... presence" rather than the indispensable and unquestioned starting QB of the Cowboys? Things have changed indeed.
I don't know how you got this out of what I posted. I really don't.

This sounds like Jerry indirectly saying it's Dak's team now. Otherwise he would have come out and said Romo will play when healthy.

No one is "turning on Romo." Just thing Dan is the better option at present. It's not a question of loyalty, appreciation, or respect but of likelihood of producing victories NOW.

Some people can't understand that. There has to be something negative behind any decision or preference in their minds. You either love Dak and hate Romo, or you love Romo and hate Dak. You can't like them both. There must be some negativity and hatred involved.

That's what I get out of it. He's talked about 'riding the hot hand' enough times recently to make me think that no change is imminent. And I think that Romo is enough of a team guy to understand it and not try to force anything, publicly or privately.

Jerry himself has even mentioned that Romo would do whatever was best for the team. And that's either the truth, or a preemptive statement to cut things off at the pass. I believe that it's the former.

I do recall Dak saying that a few weeks ago

The same people that have turned on Romo will do the same to Dak at some point

It's in their DNA to do so. Sad

So if you are on the side saying that The Cowboys should go with Dak, you are "turning on Romo". Some of the stuff you folks come up with is unbelievable!!!

I think a decision to "play something by ear" is in and of itself "sorting it out"...that's called following the "agile" or "iterative" approach in strategy speak...figuring it out as you go is how much of technology is developed these days...or even medications (the original intended usage for Rogaine and Viagra weren't ultimately how they're used today...both were originally developed as cardiovascular drugs that surprisingly had different effects!?!). You develop something under one set of principles, assumptions and expectations and, through collaboration, you allow yourself to "iterate" to different outcomes/objectives than that originally set forth if the process calls for it. That's called intelligence in my book.

I think, though we often mock Jason for his overuse of the term, is why you hear to word "process" referenced so much from the organization...more so than terms such as "objective" or "goals"...agile and iterative strategy is about the process above all else...how you get there is the critical question. Not sure if Jerry meant it this way but this is the way I choose to understand it. :)
You wouldn't happen to be a software developer, would you? :)

I mean, if you read the quotes from Archer's ESPN story on the same subject it sounds like they are going to put him in... or at the very least that's the way they want it to play out.

It does sound that way. I pasted the rest of the quote below. The thing with Jerry though is he'll hint at one preference one week and then another week he'll deviate from it a little bit. So playing it by ear is still probably closest to the truth.

"We have the luxury of getting him that ready. And when we do that, we've got an edge that can take us a long way. I think what you're going to have is you're going to see Tony playing really well at practice, really being what he can be -- which is in my mind, when he's healthy, I don't know that I would trade him for anybody."

"For us to really have our advantage of being as deep as we are with good quarterbacking right now, and I'm not being trite when I say it, he's got to -- absolutely got to -- get ready to play at his top level," Jones said of Romo. "Then we got something, and I think he can get there, and you'll see that at practice this week."

For clarity, I dont believe Daks current success has turned people away from Romo at all. Romo detractors made their mind up about Romo even while he was the only bright spot on this unpolished turd and suffered through porous offensive lines and crappy defenses making him gamble to try to outscore opponents.

I, and many, for the record would like to see Dak stay in and have continued success while going through growing pains. I back Dak AND Romo and dont find this fandom mutually exclusive. I feel bad for others who dont share this but "que sera sera".

See, this is a great example of what many of us are saying; "Why does any one have to take a side"?

It appears you have.

I think it's total bs I'm for keeping Dak in but if you want Romo back in put him in if you're not satisfied with what Dak's done so far you never will be so make the change and stop crying about it. Sitting on the fence helps neither QB. So sick of people saying "it's a good problem to have" it's not, you have to choose one QB or the other.

I don't see the big deal. If Romo doesn't cut it you put Dak back in.

Now if you don't think we'd take Romo out for anything but an injury then that's a concern.

Meaning..

If we're down 17 points and Dak has hit a wall then Romo will come in and save the day...

Romo will come in at some point this year.

I don't know when but he will come in and he will rip up whatever defense is across from him.

Tony will more than likely be very rusty at best for a little while if that scenario presents itself.

M

Im uncertain who gets the final say but I have a feeling who does. How about you?
the jones boys have final say, but right now they are staying with dak, and it just depends on how he plays, and if the wins
keep rolling in.
Jimmy and all the big experts, and even cowboy haters, are saying stick with dak he is hot, so they arent ignoring that.

Jerry wants a SB more than he wants tony to win one.

Honestly guys, its been 20+ years and people still listen Jerry and try and de-code everything he says. Hell he doesn't know what he is saying half the time. Give it a rest.
