2 years of historically bad injuries, with one year also being on the OL. Don't forget the " * " on the injuries, but if it doesn't fit your agenda......

No agenda, just truth. There were 7 teams last year more injured than us, and 3 made the playoffs. One, the Patriots, made it to the AFC championship game. The 2010 Packers were as injured, or more injured than the Cowboys of 2012 and 2013. Injuries happen every year, it is no excuse.

I would like to see proof that any team had more injuries at the same position as the Cowboys. Only 1 player including the top projected backups remaining healthy on the Cowboys DLine.

The 2010 Packers were amazing, but their injuries were spread around at all positions.

True.

And in addition Ratliff isn't figured into those injury totals, even though in essence he was lost for the entire season, which would add another 16 games lost by an apparent starter.

Nope, not historic injuries, at all.

I was surprised by that chart, too, but I don't think it takes into account replacement players who were elevated to starting jobs and then injured. It's unclear, though.

That chart also appears to be whole team, too, where the issue at hand was defensive injuries.

Based on Adjusted Games Lost, the Cowboys were the 4th hardest hit team on defense.

This does not included Ratliff. If Ratliff's 16 games missed were included, the Dallas defense would have been #1 in this stat.

Bottom 8
Defense AGL
NO 74.4
NYG 62.5
CHI 55.7
DAL 51.4
NE 49.8
DEN 47.5
SF 47.3
SD 46.3

Only Dallas, New York, and Chicago failed to make the playoffs on that list. That strengthens my contention that injuries are not an excuse for failure. There are a few top half defenses in that list.

You sir are correct. Each team experiences at least 20 DL's getting hurt each year. What could I possibly have been thinking?

Stop twisting things around.

Well, if you are going to group over 1/3 of the defense as one position, I guess you have a point. You and I both know that's disingenuous.

Disingenuous how?

Further we lost impact players. Lee, Ware, Spencer, Rat....guys who when healthy would all rank in the top 10 of our best overall players across both sides of the ball.

Nevermind we lost our Pro Bowl QB for the most important game of the season...

Ignoring that fact is disingenuous.
