You’re not missing Zeke, you’re missing a power running back. Don’t forget the impact Zeke had the first year, after that it was nothing. Got paid and fat and happy? I don’t know. Maybe the beating his body took over the years finally caught up with him and he just simply isn’t the same.

3 starting linemen out and y’all are worried about Zeke.

Can’t make this up.

Zeke is a terrible football player. It’s not 2016.

Bulking up killed that burst he had and after that it was just naturally age and wear and tear.

YUP ! Now if we begin utilizing 40 once, Nope but we aren't utilizing him so Hell yeah ! Why draft a guy, put him on the active roster, and don't utilize his obvious talents when that is what the game calls for ?

Mike get's a big fat F for last weeks coaching.

Absolutely not. Most teams dont have a "power" back and do just fine.

All about the scheme

People ready to declare Schoonmaker a bust while praising Schultz should look up Schultz's records his first 2 seasons with Dallas. I'll save you the trouble, he didn't do anything for Dallas for 2 years. Sure Witten was taking his reps, but if he was any good back then, they would have gotten him involved in the offense. And just a reminder, Witten did not play when Schultz was a rookie. That year Schultz had 17 targets, 12 catches, no TDs for 116 yards. Schoonmaker could get those numbers himself this year. He already has more TDs than Schultz had his rookie year.

Give him time, especially since he missed most of training camp. At 6'6" he might be a go to guy in the red zone some day.

Yes a good TE and short yardage RB are sorely missed. The play calling doesn't help.

I think we all do miss Zeke. Feels weird he's playing in New England.

I know some will scoff at this, but they combined to score 35 TDs the past two seasons (22 of them by Zeke). Almost all of them were in the red zone.

So far, their replacements haven't had a ton of success replicating those red zone scores. Should Luepke get some carries there? Will a TE step up?

The Cowboys 40% red zone TD rate is ahead of only 3 teams, and the same as the NY Jets.
Jake---for sure we are missing Shutlz in red zone without a doubt...and why dont we use our fullback/halfback where we use to use Zeke?

The ball isn't going into the end zone. The Cowboys rarely try to score until it's obvious and the defense is waiting for it. It's run, swing pass, dink and dunk. Short stuff. I understand we don't want interceptions but McCarty has to call plays for the quartback has to throw the ball in the end zone. We had 2 TE's score in the Jets game. From 1 and 4 yards. The WR's haven't scored yet! Throw the ball in the end zone!
big Dog---i cant lay a plat this game cause i said i would not...but if i could...i would lay a PLAT we will figure out our red zone issues...cowboy guarantee

Which is why some are now saying MM doesn't trust Dak.
i think it goes both ways...but not as deep as one might think....we will work out wrinkles....if i could lay PLAT ...OCTO on that

When they do throw it into the endzone, it is usually that corner fade that Dak is terrible at. The Raiders had some really nice plays last night that MM needs to watch.
its time to study tape for we haver personnel to beat up Pats....i cant lay plat this week...but it would be OCTO with special beatdown qualities

i loved Zeke....but the hits slow all runners down unless you are Barry Sanders who did not take a ton of big hits..and averaged yes averaged 1500 a season

over 10 yeaers

Well that was the direction I thought they would go but we haven't seen much creativity in the red zone so far.

You know it only takes one or two plays to turn the game around. Like for instance, on one of Pollard's goal line runs in this last game, the interior blocking was very good, Pollard had a seam that he could have easily gotten in to make a td, but one of the defenders was totally unblocked, and tackled Pollard well before he got back to the LOS. If the Cowboys had simply chipped that defender, very likely Pollard scores a td instead of the Cowboys having to settle for a fg on that drive, and the entire complexion of the game might have changed.

But it seems that's always the case with Dallas in the last few years. Either it's an offsides penalty when the defense has stopped the other team stopped and would have to punt, or a dropped pass, or a missed tackle, or a non-call on a penalty against the other team, or our receiver falls down and an int ensues or any of a myriad of other misfortunes, dumb play calls or such.

Sometimes it seems this team is snakebit....
