Are the Garrett years the worst ever?

I'd agree with the OP, we had no hope with Campo, we knew we were bad, this 4 years have been horrible , false hopes, great expectations, spoiled good/great players careers, chokers, heart braking loses, the laughing stock of the league and not because we are bad but because we are an accident waiting to happen as SAS says, it's been a nightmare being a fan of this franchise in that span.
IMO he is the worst coach in the history of the Dallas Cowboys.

The Campo teams never collapsed like this team did today.

This team does it at least 2 or 3 times a season.

No they just couldn't score enough points to win games. So they seldom had leads they could blow and they had a good defense.

The Cowboys losses are similiar to girlfriend breakups.

Alot of the time you think you are ahead, and doing just fine until things go south very fast. Oftentimes when you least expect it.

Wait... where were we?

Jerry has done a good job of selling us that we have a lot of talent, when we have a bunch of paper tigers.

campo years had an innocence about them that didn't make every loss feel so heartbreaking. the last 5 years have been the worst in this franchise's history.

Those Campo years were bad, but I did not expect anything out of that group. This group had potential and its being wasted. So disappointing.

It's been bad. This team is allergic to opportunity. Whenever it raises it's head this team recoils like Indiana Jones at a rattlesnake roundup.

It's the culture that Jerry Jones has cultivated.

I really can't remember any specific loss with Campo, those years were just a blur. There are 6 or 7 Garrett losses that I will probably never forget.

In my opinion, yes, absolutely. It seems like every week we see a new stat posted how teams were "231-0" until...we make it 231-1.

You know how condoms are effective like 99.9 percent of the time? It feels like we are the 0.01 percent. We are a bad condom.

no. campo years were the worst for me

Yes but at least during the Campo years, we kind of knew what we had the team was not good. Now, every week this team stomps on your balls with the way they win or lose.

This team does it at least 2 or 3 times a season.

That's been consistent for this group since Parcells.

The problem is with the core croup.
Romo
Witten
Ware
Austin.

At least 2 of that group should play elsewhere or not at all next year.

I'm not absolving Garrett of any blame but these problems have always plagued this team led by these guys.

Campo because there was no hope. You can't say that the last couple of off seasons.

I think they have been the worst. Seems like every game sets a new negative record for the history of the franchise. Campo didn't do that, at least I don't remember it. Of course when you think about it, there is nothing in Garrett's background that qualified him to be a HC when he got the job. Jerry was just dreaming about the '90's and thought he could recapture that decade with our 3rd string QB from that era. Sad...

But at less under Wade, we were a competent regular-season team. The MO was we couldn't get it done in the playoffs, but I don't recall nearly this amount of heart-breaking losses under him.

I feel like it used to be that we couldn't get it done in the playoffs. Now we can't eclipse 8-8.

Those 4 played with Wade and we won the east 2 out of 4 years and we also had a playoff win, these four arent the problem, the problem is their current HC.

The first half of the 2010 season was worse than anything that's come since then, to me at least. I'll take average over terrible any way I can get it. It's better than living in the world the Raiders are in.

If Switzer doesn't get credit for winning with Jimmy's team why should wade?

Look at what happened in 08.

That was the precursor to what we see today.

They fought past it in 09 and probably peaked at the divisional round.

Haven't been back since.

I still think the players need to take as much if not more blame in this because it's been happening over the course of a couple coaches.

They played well as they were in their prime.

That time has passed.

Only player playing the same is Romo IMO and he's still snake bit with those late game throws.

Said it for years — the Romo, Austin, Witten, Ware (and Ratliff) core will be the poster children for the Cowboys Dark Ages.

All talented (some possible HOFers), but each with flaws or shortcomings (mostly mental) that they could never collectively overcome.

Team "leaders" who racked up some serious personal accolades but failed under three different coaches.

Their defenders will blame everyone else (coaches, supporting cast, etc), but when it truly counted, this group has disappeared or underperformed so many times that I've lost count.

As good as they have been individually, I fear their inevitable induction into the Ring of Honor will taint it, slightly, given that none appear that they will ever lead their teams to championships like all of the other ROH greats.
