Are the Giants a "hangover" game?

I think this is a different team we are seeing and I don't think they will look past the Giants. It's any given Sunday. I really hope the Boys stay focused on the "process" and prepare for the Giants as if they were 5-0.

I think the coaching staff & players are smart enough to know that even though pieces are starting to come together, they've had some ugly plays and are not good enough to relax at all.

I loved this win vs Seattle but I'm a little worried about our game next week. The Giants just got humiliated after a week of smack talk, and next week is their last fighting chance to stay relevant in the playoff chase. I understand that good teams win anyway, but I can't shake the feeling that the Cowboys are riding high after this win and maybe overlook the Giants next week.

Thoughts?

I know the Defense with Marinelli will not over look them. He seems to have those guys extremely focused.

Key will be turnovers. Those things are eventually going to catch up and cost the team a victory.

Not overlooking them, mind you, because this is a division game. I expect us to be just as fired up as we were last night.

They may have lost Cruz for the year. I'm not worried about Beckham or their running game.

I saw a team overcome obstacles last night that usually would bury us. Even in the 49er debacle of a 1st half, I saw us blank them in the 2nd half. Then another week we were down like 20 points. In both games we kept offensive balance and improved as the game wore on.

I'm liking the spirit this team is playing with. Each week we have success (win or lose) the players will continue to buy in to what their coaches are selling.

I'm trying to temper my excitement but it's hard. :)

get on them early and it's over. their offense will try every trick in the book in the first quarter. pick plays, reverses, screens. our defense will have to handle business again. I laugh at that Giants defense. Want to see if JPP wants to open his mouth knowing the mauling he'll get on Sunday. SOFT *** chump.

Giants game is more important than the SEA game. Honestly, though, I'm kind of glad that's the team we've got coming in this week, because they were the team the derailed our 13-3 season, and we've still got a couple prominent players around to remember that. I imagine they'll be able to focus on this week, and it's a chance to almost break the back of a division rival if we go out and execute.

The nice thing about the SEA win is that we won making a lot of obvious mistakes, too. We can play better, and at home, against a good rival who used to think they owned our building and could sign our visitors' lockers....let 'em have it.

McCoy just dropped something like 150 on them with a half-injured o-line. The Giants o-line gave up a load of sacks. Poor little Sheli looked lost. We win by at least 14.

The Giants are like a punch-drunk boxer, reeling and hanging on the ropes to keep themselves balanced. We can, and should, deliver the knockout punch next weekend. Coming off a blowout loss, without Victor Cruz, this is a game that we should win and put them out of their misery.

I personally think it is tough for a division game to ever be a trap game.

The pressure is on Dallas to beat NY and NY will be under no pressure to beat Dallas due to losing Cruz. After beating Seattle there is one thing this team will now have to deal with, elevated expectations. Whether this team is "elite" or not at the end of the season, right now it is considered "elite" and what comes with that is more scrutiny and pressure.

Seems like this team is as mentally strong as they are physically strong, if they are that perception, they should win at home, or at the least not have a hangover.

Brian Kelly said it well when speaking to his Notre Dame team about the concept of trap games. He repeats the following to his players:

You do not rise to the level of your opponent - you sink to the level of your preparation.

I think the Cowboys will approach this one pretty well. They responded with strong effort after two tough, emotional wins over the Rams and Texans. With this being their first divisional game of the season, I think they will be ready.

I suppose to answer the OP's question, will the offensive line not block for Murray or Romo in this Giant's game?
