Are these two players Diggs and Parsons really that great, or are they being labeled as great because of one stellar season???

Micah rookie year
Diggs career year when he had over 10 interceptions

Parsons is really that great. He is a force, even when he's not getting sacks. Can play the run and the pass.
Big thing is to try to keep him fresh for a 17 game season as he goes 120% every snap

Diggs I think is good, but like a Xavien Howard type of corner and not a truly great one. Can make plays, can give up plays. Tackling is suspect at times. Not sure if he's worth being the top paid corner, even for a year.

If MIcah plays 90% of snaps as a LB and is not forced to play DE he will have a long and fruitful career I think. Yes he is great at LB. Diggs is long, fast and has great ball skills. Exactly what you want in today's NFL. He hasn't reached take the best player out of the game status yet but he could be there next year. And that would make him great. https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/202...von-diggs-stats-interceptions-pro-bowl-voting

Yeah but see we have an owner that doesn't see it that way and could be looking at that great year he had. Hell they still think Zeke hasn't lost a step lol

Why do you say that about diggs, did the tackling aspect make you feel this way?
His tackling, if you want to call it that, is horrible.

He gave up some plays this year because of how much he avoids contact.

He also still takes too many chances in coverage for my liking and gives up big plays.

He was better in overall coverage this year though than he was last year.

Very good point I think the previous season at times he did, but he gave up some yards also

Micah is easily an elite player, and anyone who doesnt see that needs to have more realistic expectations. We can debate things like his maturity level, social media decisions, etc, but when it comes to football it's tough to name many players better than he is, especially in year 2.

Diggs I think is a top corner in this league, but I also think the impact a CB can have in this league is limited by the rule book over the last decade or so. It's extremely unlikely that he touches 11 INTs in a season again. His coverage skills are in the category of really really good, not great and he has proven to be a liability in the run game. He is that guy however that certain WRs (even some elite guys) he can take out of ball games. Diggs is a very mixed back of some elite traits, but some bad mixed in, which makes him very difficult to evaluate on a new contract.

If you want to make the debate about Diggs seeing as how he had 1 amazing year due to his 11 INT's then that is a fair debate. His opposing comp % increased in 2022 (52.4% in 2021 and 64.7% in 2022) while his yards per completion decreased (16.8 ypc in 2021 and 12.2 ypc in 2022)....which tells me he either chose to or it was part of the game plan to play off of WR's. That said his missed tackle percentage decreased dramatically (16.1% in 2021 and 1.7% in 2022) which perhaps plays into the playing off the WR issue.

However, Parsons had 13 sacks his rookie season and 13-1/2 this season and is the undeniable heart of the defense in only his second year in the league.

I’d trade em both for draft capital. We are going to waste them anyway.

Diggs is over hyped cause of one season . And Parsons while great is inconsistent. He disappears in some games .

Quote me where I said this, your mind told you I'm bashing him, I'm asking a question
Here's what you said...and don't forget that I used to be all over you on the old board too...

You asked if Parsons was really that great. Then talked about 1 stellar season. When someone asks if someone is "really that great" it usually carries negativity with that. Now add your comment about one stellar season and to me, you've dismissed what he contributed to this season. You have always gotten caught up highlights and numbers (sack) and lack the ability to see that while Micah may not be getting a sack, he's taking on 2 guys and that frees up another guy to make a play and so on and so forth.

So maybe next time, really think about what you want to say and then not add so much drama into your question.
