Better depends on Pickens situation offensively.
Definitely better on D - i mean we can't regress further

Better overall, especially on defense.
Offense kept intact, with a few replacements on the OL of equal talent, maybe better slightly.

I am liking how the roster is shaping up.

On paper, there is zero doubt this team is better. But games aren’t played on paper of course.

It is very hard to just instantly go from a back to back non playoff team to a contender. With our 4th DC in 4 seasons, it will probably take some time to get these players, most of whom are young and/or new to the team, to get United.

Plus we have a rookie DC in Parker who looks like he’s going to be great with loads of potential. He just needs to show it on the field in real games.

After 30 years of this crap one must realize it’s silly to get excited. What have he won yet? Is Jerry still in charge? Do we have a coach that can out smart opponents. I liked the draft but year after year we never get anywhere.

I think it’s legitimately historically impossible to be worse. Sleep well knowing that next season can’t be as bad.

I think you can make a clear argument we are better. I still think FA was a dud but they added some pieces, traded for Gray and then added some talents in the draft.

So I can say the roster appears better but rosters still need to perform. Parker is the big variable here. If he really is a wunderkind and puts out a pretty decent defense in 2026 with the scheme change and new personnel, then we might be a pretty good team in 2026.

Agreed. Any number of guys like P.J. Locke can as well. I was joking about Goodwin because it seems like he keeps getting re-signed for ST for the past decade plus.
