With all the recent articles published about Jerry putting his players on notice and this does include Roy Williams per http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/news.cfm?id=1C197357-D4E2-9AEB-09D7B7A16DDDBE68&editorialAuthor=12 ...which is an excellent read BTW.

How do you guys feel about it and do you think this team is headed in the right direction?

Maybe Jerry realized that "addition by subtraction" really works and locker room chemistry is important?

I'll be the first to admit that I have dogged Jerry before because I felt some his decisions were what I thought stupid. I just have to give him credit now because he's really doing a good job now.

Many will never acknowledge that.

From what I read and heard in the recent columns it sounds like the mantality (as # 88 would say) is headed in the right direction.

So far these are the right words. Lets see the right actions and if it is going to be done. If it can possibly be done as an improvement. We'll start seeing on Friday.

So far it's words.........

Jerry is the same guy he has always been.

He is talking tough about certain people for money reasons mostly.

He has always done that. Remember jimmy johnson had to step in between jerry and irvin during the 92 training camp. Irvin had no contract and jerry was saying in the media how one person would not cause the team any problems and then he had a sit down with irvin at the team awards ceremony and asked irvin if he knew of the city in Texas named el paso because that is what he was going to do on irvin's contract demands....

irvin was livid and started saying he was going to retire and go work for channel 4 because their sports guy had left and he said they pay their people.....

jimmy stepped in because it was getting late and he didnt want any problems....

so jerry has always been this way....

It's definitely a different game and/or turf for these players when dealing with Jerry over money. It's basically his turf there and this year with the state of the CBA he has all the leverage.

But, he didn't screw Ware around last year, he's going to do Austin right, I believe, this year but he isn't going to have any past contracts that have been already done sqwacking either. He's definitely not going to have lacadaisical play from guys who just got paid well like Hamlin, Barber and Newman.

So in a very similar way your belief on what Jerry is doing through the media is my belief. But there will be personnel change and not just cuts. But positional movement on the o-line and d-line. I would not be surprised to see Ratliff and Bigg get moved along their respective lines.

T-Old? Is that Terrell Owens? Are you saying the Owens singing was a mistake?

One Pro Bowl season, one All-Pro season. Lead the NFL in TDs over the three years and was our 2nd most valuable offensive player over that time.

It would be nice if Jones could make one of these "bad moves" each year.

yes Owens was a mistake. his probowl season and all pro season got us nothing when he disapeared in the playoffs like he has since 1998

No it wasn't a mistake. And that's not opinion, it's fact. We were a better team in 2006 and 2007 because of him. He was one of the very best players at his position.

we were a better team in 2006 and 2007 because of the guy throwing to him. but whatever. you must be one of his crazy fans that feels the need to always defend him. speaking of getting better, notice how the team got even better without him even though the guy who replaced him put up worse numbers than he did?

Its not hard to see.

When Jerry has a team with a great QB, the team looks great

When QB play is subpar, or awful (see the Campo years, or a banged up late career Aikman) his moves look terrible.

Jerry hit a HR with Romo

They didn't tell everyone they believed Miles Austin was T.O's replacement but they believed between RW11 and # 19 T.O's replacement was on the team.

I didn't believe one of these guys was gonna replace a playing HOF'er in the making but it happened and they knew it was going to happen. They paid the guy over $9 million to leave and got nothing out of him, that's how much they knew it would happen.

That probowl season RW11 had years ago, I said he was going to be the new T.O play wise, not personality wise, in this league. Haven't seen that player since he got injured the next season and I was excited he came here.

and you sure don't say **** until it's safe. you rarely have an opinion before their's a boatload of posts. I never said I was never wrong. sorry for wanting to sign Tank when out NT's were Remi and an unknown/undersized Jay Ratliff. soory for wanting to give Pacman a shot when our corners were injury prone Newman, old/slow Anthony Henry and 2 rookies. you're a joke. would you like me to go look up all the times Jerry screwed up as gm like you like to do to other posters? grow some balls and have an opinion. caution you may be wrong sometimes if you do this though....
