See Randy Gregory. Recall the staggering amount of money he tried to throw at him. Jerry is an idiot. Cap Boy is even worse.Jerry is infatuated with shiny objects. Drafting players who wouldve been 1st rounders if they hadn’t suffered a serious injury or were a drug addict. And also with former 1st rounders who are busts. Always thinking he is going to swoop in and sign the steal of the century.
Washington got lucky last year. Why can’t Dallas this year.not being wise bro, but thats a lot of IF's. And mix in an unproven, first time head coach. If all of these things fall into place, we'll be very lucky.
100% think so. These are very targeted moves and think the analytics department and scouts are working extra hard to find low cost system fits. I like the LB adds and think they will definitely help the team, the rest I don't know but hey sometimes you find some great bargains at the 2nd hand store.I'm starting to wonder if we are trying to pull off some sort of "Moneyball" style form of team building were we are looking at certain metrics that the general public doesn't generally perceive as valuable to sign lower dollar FA and acquire players via trade.
I'm not saying that it is a positive or a good thing, but it certainly seems like they are targeting certain players who have an athletic profile over an NFL pedigree.
Our offseason seems to have a theme... from the coaching search/hire to the FA period, to the players we are adding...
It is not an all or nothing situation. You are insisting that it is only about 'FRP.' I am saying that is all the press is saying in the headline but that is a gross oversimplification. So you think it's about frp pedigree or tape?
You think these guys were chosen by the scouts or by a salesman?
Actually, Stephen has a EE degree. That means he knows how to do multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and statistics.Jerry and Stephen aren’t smart enough to be analytical like they were with moneyball.
The most you can get is 4, which we got this year. And given what they are doing this year: are they going to get more or less comp picks than what they were doing before?
It's amusing watching people come to grips with it not being like it has been for the past decade. First week and a dozen moves? Not in the last 15 years.
No, that does not mean I think it will work. I don't pretend to know the unknowable.
And that was on the basis of last year. If you want to fixate on last year and be mad then go ahead. The most you can get is 4, which we got this year.
It sure has worked out well the last 30 years. Let’s not change anything. Gotta fill those seats and sell those jerseys.100% think so. You’re giving Jerry waaaaay to much credit to be as astute as Billy Beane.I'm starting to wonder if we are trying to pull off some sort of "Moneyball" style form of team building were we are looking at certain metrics that the general public doesn't generally perceive as valuable to sign lower dollar FA and acquire players via trade.

Even if they do. They are a year removed. And that was on the basis of last year. If you want to fixate on last year and be mad then go ahead.
They are not going to be getting 4 next year is the point.
Enjoy your cognitive dissonance.
You don't know how comp picks work and I am not interested in teaching you.Even if they do. They are a year removed.
A comp pick is added to the end of a round. So a 5th round comp pick this year is basically an early 6th. So if we get a 5th comp pick, next year for losing a player this year, it is basically valued as an early 7th in real time.
1. Lewis
2. DLaw
3. Gholston
4. Kendricks
I think we could end up with 4, from these players. It comes down to the contract and playing time, and we know Stephen is not going to sign a legit FA to off set it.
What signings? The 1 year $3M signings. You think that is you going off set anything? Those players won't even see the field for 20% of the time. You don't know how comp picks work and I am not interested in teaching you.
If you want to think that after all the signings of this week they are going to get comp picks then you go right ahead.
I just told you I have no interest in teaching you how comp picks work. If you don't believe me I don't care. What signings. The 1 year $3M signings. You think that is you going off set anything? Those players won't even see the field for 20% of the time.
You have zero to teach. Try teaching yourself.I just told you I have no interest in teaching you how comp picks work. If you don't believe me I don't care.
You have started to make an argument. You basically gave some parameters, didn't look at the salary clustering and gave an obviously biased interpretation of our signings. Then basically waved your hands. You have zero to teach. Try teaching yourself.
