Are we whistling in the graveyard here?

I see a blowout coming. Lions have little confidence right now, while Dallas is feeling it.

Yeah, remember that our safeties at the end of that game were Heath and Hamilton.

That's a great point and one I had forgot !
I think we are a better team, playing at home, on a roll, Detroit in its 3rd road game in a row.
We should win this game. But make no mistake , Detroit is talented and can beat us if we help them.

I could always be wrong, but this team doesn't appear to be the kind that will experience a blowout loss. Their talent coupled with the way the execute makes a blowout highly improbable, IMO.

Agree. If one were to happen it would be an end I'd not expect to see

All valid points by the OP. This game by no means will be easy. But I think it's necessary to say the reason why I'm not that worried about past failures is because this is simply a much, much better team. Or at least we are playing that way.

We simply weren't that good in recent years - again, at least in terms of how we played. Hence the annual 8-8 campaigns and the inability to finish against certain teams.

How dare some of the fans have some confidence. Let the players do their job, and the fans do theirs. Enjoy the "process", I mean the ride!

Well I mean confidence is one thing, 40 pts on the 2nd best defense in the NFL in an indoor stadium is a bit unrealistic imo. Would be elated if it happens though

yeah i'm not sure why some are thinking we'll put up 40 or more on what was for the majority of the season, the best defense in the NFL. It's going to be a tough, hard fought game. Could come down to whomever has the ball last..

I think Detroit really struggled in the cold at Lambeau and will be able to really get their offense going in an indoor stadium (which is much like their own at home)

Stafford sucks, all we have to do is take Megatron out and we are good, trust me. They play the replay of our last game... we had rookie Wilcox and Jeff Heath playing safety that game, plus Kiffin never adjusted. Stafford also admitted the our safeties was out of position numerous times so he took advantage of it. I'm not feeling cocky as we got this in the bag but Megatron will not go for 329 on us again like that.

Detroit has repeatedly been a bad matchup for us..

and the defense has been embarrassing at best against Stafford.

I think we have to be very leary of this game..

we can't talk SB until we erase the failures of the past against Detroit..

what say you guys.

Can we really make a 4 game winning streak hold up?

No.

You are about to see them up close Sunday.

They have played just as strong as we have.

This is going to be a nervous game if you ask me.

The difference MUST be the home crowd if we are to win..IMO.

This is not the same team that faced them in 2011 and 2013.

Dallas has a defense that is making the key stops, and an improved running game. Detroit is a good team but so are the Cowboys. The connection between Romo and his receivers is a thing of beauty right now. I am looking forward to watching this game.

It looks to me like Romo and Stafford are headed in opposite directions. Time will tell but that is my sense.

Detroit ain't who you should be worried about...it's what comes next...against a VERY dangerous, though less mobile quarterback that is only a sliver less than Romo in his effectiveness...and he will be on his own playground...

The defense that we put on the field last season to stop the Lions is gone. You can't go by that game to judge what might be in this one. Our current defense is a solid bunch that seems to rise to the occasion. As hot as our offense is, I see no worries in beating the Lions.

I don't think we can talk SB until we win the NFC title game. But you are right, Detroit will not go down easy and if they play their best we may be in trouble..

I think we are a better team this year on both sides of the ball and Detroit is probably about the same overall. We played them extremely close last year 'til they won out at the end. For that reason, I'm anticipating better results this time around. To me, that's a key element. Detroit surely doesn't have the most prolific OL around and that's a known fact. If we can get reasonably consistent pressure on Stafford, we should be fine. Hopefully, Marinelli & Co. will get it done.

Did anyone watch the GB-Detroit game? Stafford was absolutely awful.

That said, Romo needs to not throw stupid picks like the one he threw against the Commanders. That one has kind of gotten lost in the blow out win, but it was a really bad pick. Those things will get you beat in the playoffs.

Doesn't Stafford have some ridiculous road losing streak against better than .500 teams?

Now that's a failure that needs to be erased.

Maybe next year Matt.

And don't think our coaching staff isn't aware of that. The team is practicing today in subfreezing (17 degrees) temperatures for a reason... it's not totally to prepare for Sunday's game in Jerry World. If that were the case, they would be practicing in Jerry World. The team is getting acclimated to the cold temps to do battle on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. Now, the game plan is all about playing the Lions but the outdoors practice setting was not.

Their quarterback is 0-16 when playing away against a team with a winning record.

Agree. Never expected division title or playoffs so anything , minus a blowout loss is great to me

Wish I could feel this way but when we get to this level of play, I want/need more success at the next level. Many may see it as a building block for next year however I just see it as an opportunity that does not come often and you never know how we'll be next year with injuries and changes in the system. Got to take advantage while we're hot. Just sayin.

Unless Detroit is a LEGITIMATE Superbowl contender - and I haven't heard one SOLITARY person say they are - then Dallas better beat them handily if we are to believe that Dallas is a Superbowl contender. Detroit is be BY FAR the easiest game left.
