Because Jerry...

I don't see them paying Both Bland and Diggs huge $'s and especially if Revel works out. I think either Diggs is traded/cut after the season or Bland is not signed. My preference would be trading Diggs but I don't want to sidetrack the thread with that discussion and again that ASSUMES Revel works out. They could also sign Bland next offseason and since the first year of a new deal is always a small cap hit, they could keep them both for 2026 also and then decide in 2027 which to let go if no 3rd CB steps up before next year.
I get it and I was thinking it would be all 3 needing deals at once but it would only be Bland and Pickens, correct. Unless Jerry wants to play the tag game.

Never said that.

You want to tell me caliber of WR doesn't make a difference in How effective a QB is?
I’m so conflicted on Dak. Two years ago he was really freaking good. Like almost MVP good. But, obviously, where are the playoff wins. There is nobody that convince me that Jalen Hurts is a better QB than Dak BUT Hurts is money in big games. He’s outplayed Mahomes in both SB’s and is so close to having 2 rings and 2 SB MVPs. I know Dak feels the pressure and I’m sure he’s desperate to win some big games. He can look really damn good for an entire season but we just don’t see the playoff wins.
I’m of the opinion he’s gonna have a big season with Pickens and Cee Dee.

Chris Simms ranks Hurts the 10th best QB in the league, and that’s probably just to avoid having to answer why winning isn’t that important for starting quarterbacks. He points out no QB has the advantages Hurts has. That’s the same as saying Hurts does not have the disadvantages other quarterbacks have.

If he’s not that good it is an indictment of other parts of better quarterbacks’ teams. What disadvantage does Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen endure that prohibits their ultimate success. Is it ownership? GM/front office? Perhaps their head coach/coaching staff puts them at a disadvantage compared to the Eagles, or their 52 teammates. Whatever the difference is someone somewhere is not as good at something as they need to be.

Fact is Jalen Hurts is barely a top 20 NFL quarterback. But he’s a great football player. He does his job. Dak needs to do his.

I generally buy until proven otherwise. If I ever stop doing that it’s time to hang up the ol fandom cleats.

What happened 2 years ago is irrelevant to what happens this year. I am not so sure this offense is better. We added RBs but none stand out. The OTs are a big question mark. TEs dont look so good. Qb is two years older coming off injury. WRs are better.

And Eagles are superbowl champions winning it in a dominant DEFENSIVE fashion. They added 5 draft picks, their first 5 in fact to that dominant #1 defense. Why does that matter? KC won 15 games last year with their offense, never scoring more than 30 points.

And 3rd OC or not they are still very talented on offense. You can't deny that. Top OL perhaps. Great running game. Top 5 TE and deep WR group. Any OCs dream offensive team.

Washington is improved and they can make same claims as you are making

So just because in your.opinion thisnis better team than the 12-5 team they are not going to win 13....other teams improved significantly more in the same 2 year span.
This is why they play the games. We shall see.

IF he can stay healthy I think you are correct. He will be 32 by the start of the season. Is being 32 all that different from the 30 years old he was in 2023? Maybe. maybe not. We know QBs that play at a high level and 16-17 games at a much older age, but that doesn't mean it's the norm. He is coming into camp off of another injury - 2020 season ending injury (27 y/o); 2022 season ending injury (29 y/o); 2024 season ending injury (31 y/o). That doesn't mean it will happen this year of course and sometimes injuries are just bad luck and happen to all QBs in a violent league, but again he is another year older and the %'s go up a little each year IMO. I agree that the two WRs will lead to him having good numbers, but I feel like improved OL play will be needed to help keep him healthy. It looks like we will have that but we have to see it on the field.

Slight change there to make it a little more specific. Barely a top 20 thrower of the football. But his other attributes (good "football player" as you point out) clearly make him much better than "barely a top 20 NFL QB" because it's the whole package that makes a QB who he is. I'm assuming we aren't disagreeing and it's just semantics.

We won 7 games last year with a ton of injuries to key players and Rush at QB for half the season.

I know a lot of QBs are overpaid. Dak being one of them. But if we're relatively healthy at some point, and this team can't improve upon that, then paying Dak was a complete waste if we can get the same number of wins with Rush.
