Like the pick. We can move on from joe looney. Brings great competition to the center and guard battle. I believe him and mcgovern will battle for the center spot. If badass wins the job at center than mcgovern and connor Williams will battle for the lg spot. Great valueas the last 4th round pick. They had this kid projected as a 2-3

I’d say no.

we have plenty of guys who can replace Fred and be more than serviceable... to trade up for him when there were still S and other Dline on the board seemed a bit “reachy” at that point

Here to proving me wrong like Fred did on his draft night when i made a donkey of myself swearing the pick all night long

he will be starting at center this year or next. Amazing pick.

So you have the 5th round pick Badasz as your starting center? I would pencil in Looney as my starting C in your scenario with Badasz as the potential backup. Maybe they felt since Williams can backup both G and C they went ahead and pulled the trigger on Badasz.
Looney is a backup. This kid is real starting center.

Ppl dont realize that you cant have top paid high draft picks across the line. You need someone to play up. Another thing they dont realize is our 90s line was filled with mostly 4th round and later guys

Watched some tape on him this morning. Looks solid in the run game, but I have concerns about his pass blocking. Seems like he has heavy feet. Lunges and leans forward a lot. We will have to see.

yup i would say hes ok in pass protection and needs to work on that part of his game. But his run blocking is fantastic and was the leader of that wisconsin line for 3 years for the top rusher in college football. definitely better than joe looney from the rip

I say yes. I am glad Dallas is giving attention to center. looney is probably a league average starter which is fine. I have doubt is Williams can be that. So I am fine investing a third day pick on another guy there. I will need to read more of him but it aappears outside of injury concerns he was a nice get in the fourth round.

I am kool with the pick. Wish we didn’t trade with the egirls to get him. There was a reason we needed to jump to get him. Not sure what that is. Maybe the fins were going to get him...

Would have preferred Kenny Robinson here but get the choice and the value here is decent. I'm hoping his play deteriorating in 2019 was due to playing through injury?

I like the pick but have read about hip issues and etc. What is your opinion can he give the Cowboys years of play at the Center position ?

Lets see,...as someone who has been touting Badger O lineman for the last..... ohhh, 25 years or so, yeah...I LOVE the pick. BTW.....did you know that our old O line coach Bill Callahan also used to coach the Badger O line many moons ago? Sure did!

No is going to replace Travis Frederick.
With the players we have now, I believe they can have an OL that’s even more effective overall than the 2019 version. Fredbeard wasn’t ‘100%’ in 2019, was missing altogether in 2018, and from what I’ve been reading, was affected by the illness at least PART of 2017. All we really need is to get them acclimated as a unit and maintain reasonable health.
