Are you ok with our offense not being in the top 3, or putting up 40pts?

A good way to be successful to average scoring more points than your defense averages giving up.
Sorry, that's not true. We've been trying that w/ Dak, and it isn't working. And has been tried many times in the NFL, and always falls flat. Remember ATL in the super bowl? Used your method and lost because of it. TOP and sustained drives are the path to a super bowl, not simply scoring more points.

This all sounds like BS. Every fan and member of the team during a game wants a score and if given a choice, would take a quick score (other then a last drive scenario) and 30+ burger. No one says hey, let’s slow this scoring down. This McCarthy narrative on scoring is BS.

It just tells me that they still don’t yet know why they are losing but they have fan wallets and publicity they have to tend to.

Statically speaking the majority of superbowl winning teams have a good balance of offense and defense usually within the top 10-15. Offenses in the top 10 usually have the advantage. The biggest key to playoff defenses lately have been those within the top 10 in scoring defense. Of course there's alway outliers.

ToP also plays a major roll unless you're like the chiefs who can score at will. Teams that have controlled ToP in the superbowl are 42-13. Dallas the last couple years have been in the lower half of the league. Of course ToP won't matter if your defense is trash and lets the opponent walk right down the field. Key is balance
Dallas did great with turnovers the last few years. The statistic is how many points your defense contributed to, that a combo of turnovers, where the turnovers occurred, etc. Put it this way, you have a choice of a defense that put up 18pts points(6 pts off fumble, 6 pts off interception, and a second interception) or you can have a defense that has 25 turnovers(some off fumbles, some off interceptions, etc). Some are in prime field position aka inside red zone. Which do you pick?

In a league that's turned heavenly into getting stats, let's focus on what everyone's goal should be, winning the big game!! Please share your thoughts
So having fewer yards and points is the path to more wins. Uh....Mike's believers are sip'n on silly juice

Mike said it great at the press conference, it's not about being the top in the league or scoring lots of points. Save that for the fantasy people. He wants to be at the top when it costs, with wins and post season success!! All aboard on the Mike train! This was so refreshing to hear.

Like Mike, and unlike the Haters who only care about Dak failing, all I care about is winning.

At the end of the day, what does it ultimately matter if the offense isn't putting up 40 points when the QB is gifting points to the opposing defense?
Here’s a case in point. All she cares about is Dak failing.

All I care about are Lombardi Trophies. Score 60 burgers or win 13-10 every week... I don't care how they get there.

Consistent quick scores leads to 4th quarter breakdowns. History is your friend.

Mike’s probably saying that because he’s calling the plays now. He’s already covering his butt. I do agree with his comment. As long as your defense can hold the other team and you can run the ball then manage the clock. I haven’t seen Dallas be all that great on special teams manage the clock or be able to control the ball with the run game, so it’s a little hard to believe. Also the fans like points.

TOP doesn't mean much. Incredibly overrated concept.

You judge things by results. Let's look at results:
-Top two teams in time of possession this last year, Wash and Clev--were horrible!
-Bills were 18th in TOP, and the Chiefs just 13th, but look at their results!

(1) Commanders: 33:05...yet 5-6-1
(2) Browns: 31:33...yet 7-10 record

Will the new philosophy mean we pick Robinson at 26?
That would be nice. But do you think he'll be there at 26? I don't. If he is, watch Philly trade up to 25 to get him.

Doesn’t sound like you disagree since I did not say anything about consistent quick scores. I also don’t think they consistently score quick. Maybe I’m misreading your post.

This is utter nonsense. History doesn't show this at all.

Here's history:
-The Chiefs score consistently and quickly and they've been the best team in past four years.
-Rams won the Super Bowl last year and were 20th in TOP (29:58)
-Tampa Bay won Super Bowl year before and they were 21st in TOP (29:06)
-Greatest Show on Turf - lightning scoring - led to two Super Bowl appearances, and one win.

Moore's up-tempo is coming to my Chargers (my AFC team), and that along with the many other great things Moore offers...has me quite excited.

Up-tempo has major benefits:
-Defense can't catch their breath
-Defense has harder time with substitutions
-Defense can't time the snap as they can if the play clock has run all the way down
-More time for audibles
-Few delay of game penalties

Dak is so much better when playing up-tempo

I'm fine with it.

But don't for a second let the ones that hated going 4-1 with Cooper Rush tell you they're fine with.

You know who they are.
I certainly hope you're charging Dak Prescott rent for living in your head.

I honestly don't remember the last time you made a post that wasn't directly, or indirectly, about the Cowboys QB position. It seems like a lot to carry around all day.

The last post I made before this one was not about Dak.

I could just stop posting period if it bothers you THAT much that I talk about the Cowboys QB. Maybe you should be worrying more about the ones that don't post at all about the Cowboys, but instead just insult and name call people they don't agree with. The last time I checked this was a Cowboys forum and Dak is, unfortunately, the Cowboys QB. What it is not, however, is a name calling and insults form.
