Us being an experiment, is just way too cartoonish to make sense. Not because we humans hold any special significance on a cosmic level, but simply because we're too far away to be of any interest. We're not talking about driving down town to the aquarium or the zoo, we're talking going at minimum 16 light years. And if life exists on several planets, why would a civilization that can't even land on Mars, the next closest planet, be of any significance to them?

We are an experiment in that aliens are trying to build a race of humans that are genetically exactly what they want to be a slave race. That would explain the guided evolution and natural disasters that wiped out failed experiments, why groupthink and clustering of populations happens, and why they give us technology and allow us to get smart enough to do exactly what they want.

This is where I like to watch and read Neil DeGrasse Tyson. He makes a joke, if only China said they were going to Mars, in 10 months, we would be there.

If only there was porn or some other sexual incentive on Mars we would be there in 10 weeks.

My personal opinion is I 100% believe that other life is out there. I truly think that we are going to discover in the next 10,000 years that life is actually pretty common. I think that intelligent life is going to be common as well due to evolution.

As far as aliens coming to visit us? Why?

there are 5 options

1) Aliens don't care about us like we don't care about other species and would have no problems killing us. Afterall we are tied to this dirtball and they can zip around the galaxy. We can't do anything to them. They would have no problems showing themselves to us as they kill us on whims.

2) Aliens believe in the Star Trek method, no contact with lesser developed species. Hence we don't know they are there.

3) Aliens want to bring us into the fold and drastically speed up our technology advancement. they are secretly working with the government to guide our development so we can ease our selves into high levels of technology and understanding. We don't see them cause the govt is hiding them.

4) No Aliens who can travel the stars have found us

5) Aliens do not exist.

Honestly, if you think about it, any alien we encounter is going to be an apex predator. Only chance we have is to get our butts in space and higher technology levels to protect ourselves. If we encounter another alien race, we are screwed.

That sounds similar to "Childhood's End" by Arthur C. Clarke except the govt wasn't hiding them.

Aliens could be so advanced that they could be walking amongst us without us ever knowing. They could exist in a dimensional plane that we can't fathom much less perceive or see. Possible, but I think the aliens just haven't made it here yet. There is a large galaxy and universe to explore for the aliens that are technologically advanced to do so.

Haha, i've kinda thought about it that way before. Not as a slave race really, but more like a petri dish. I think a civilization is out there, just laughing at us. No real ulterior motive, just for amusement, influencing our will covertly just to make things interesting so they can just well... see what happens. Much like we experiment with rats, bacteria, etc. in laboratory settings.

Why else would a planet perfect for sustaining life, but inhabited by huge roaming beasts, get conveniently wiped out by a huge rock flung from outer space, and then we just happen along with all our faults that come along with the human condition.

IT MAKES TOO MUCH SENSE!!!!
