Brandon Weeden is exactly what we thought he was when he was signed - hot garbage.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this early, but did anybody notice how much heat Weeden had on every throw to Dez Bryant today? If those throws weren't so high or behind him Dez probably would have hurt his hands catching them. Weeden has NO accuracy and NO touch whatsoever.

I didn't know you thought so highly of him. :D

Hah! I was being nice, that's for sure. He was absolutely atrocious today. I would've preferred to see Tebow out there running around spastically to that shitshow of "quarterback" play.

Throws behind the WR, throws too far in front of the WR, deep bombs thrown to the fans in the field suites...

The guy is terrible. How anybody ever thought he was starter quality for the NFL is beyond me. Nobody should ever, EVER, suggest Mike Holmgren for anything in the NFL ever again.

Noticed that from the start.

Thought the same thing, particularly on some of his dump-off passes to the running backs. Every throw comes out with the same velocity.

Scouting departments miss on QB's a lot, though. Not sticking up for Holmgren; but it's one of the hardest positions to hit on in the draft.

Many people aren't impressed with AZ but it did exactly what they has to do to win on the road which isn't easy. We wouldn't hold serve with starting QB at home against 3rd string QB.

They are well coached. They know coming in the only way they would lose is letting Murray run wild on them and losing TO battle. As a good team they played the run and field position the way it needs to be done. They pin the Boys back for majority of the game. With exception of the INT, they played mistake free football and let the Cowboys beat themselves with their pathetic backup QB.

If they had to they will open up their offense and I am not sure our DBs can stay with their WRs. Romo will make it very interesting but by no mean we will walk in to AZ and kick their butts like some suggest. They are a very good football team. Excellent D despite being shorthanded.

I've been saying this in other threads and getting broiled over it. Good post.

I'm not sure that what you're saying matches what he's saying very closely. Or else I've just missed the posts where you're saying this. His was a good post, though, I agree.

The Cowboys lost last week to a mediocre 2 win Washington team that had their most important position on the field hurt and still won despite playing with a backup QB who was dumped in Cleveland in favor of our backup QB. How do you like those apples? The Cards went 2-1 with their most important position on the field hurt. The Cards aren't a "great" team but they're a better team than the Cowboys are. They spotted the Cowboys 10 points on the road today and still ended up winning going away. All 3 of the Cowboys losses this season have come at home and it's hard for any team to contend that has issues winning at home.

Well the good news is that most of the later games are on the road. lol

I have to say I wasn't (and am not) impressed with Cards. Couldn't believe with all the poor plays, non-showing from our O and they were only 14 half way through 4th quarter..That's a sign of a average team

And I am on the record, If we meet them in the playoffs we are going to smash them and bring them down to earth (If Romo and Co are as healthy as we all hope)

I hoep we do face them in the P/O …for now lets just get there

You're tripping. I'm going on record today to say you will not smash us whether with Romo or without. It will be a rumble whether in Dallas or in AZ. You guys with Romo are not THAT much better than us. You're just not. Hopefully we'll find out fam.

I agree. You guys have a really good team. I don't get this thread. You beat us straight up today, with a backup QB. While I think the story in Dallas is different if Romo were completely healthy and in the lineup, he wasn't either of those things, so it doesn't matter.
Even completely healthy, I think a game in AZ between both teams is in your favor.

Not sure how the team with the best record in the entire NFL can be considered overrated, but carry on......it makes for a good read.

Just so I have this straight: we lose to a bad Commanders team and their 3rd string QB. They then turn around and lose to a pathetic Vikings team, with RGIII back.

Meanwhile, the Cards only loss is to Denver, who by the way, is pretty good. but we are better than them.

Gotcha.

Your logic is unassailable

First of all you should know that you cannot do NFL math from team to team, week to week. You should know this as a fan of the game. Every team is week in week out very different based on a plethora of variables. The Jets took it to the Broncos and lost, and probably should of beaten New England 2 weeks back. Does this make the Jets a GOOD NFL team? No, but in your logic yes.

If Denver goes into New England with Osweiler at the helm and loses, does it mean that New England is better than a Manning led Broncos team? Not in any sense of reality does that mean a yes.

....and this is why you cannot make these assumptions.

It simply means that NE is better than an Osweiler led team.

Is Arizona better than a Weeden led Cowboys team? Certainly.

Is Arizona better than a Romo led Cowboys team? You cannot answer that with concrete evidence.

I do believe that Romo is able to hit his wide open targets and is able to throw to a receiver before the 4th quarter though.

Even with a healthy Romo, the Cowboys are not a lock to beat the Cardinals. We just don't waltz in and beat them easily especially if the running game was a bad as it was for Weeden. They couldn't even muster a 4.0 ypc or even a 4th and inches in this game. Romo is miles better than Weeden but guaranteed wins in the NFL are not, and some fans here have been downplaying the Cards win for that very reason. (if Romo would have played)

Either the Cardinals defense is better than anyone thinks or our OL is missing Leary and Free. I think the Cards D is better than anyone thinks.

Enjoy the win, but I do hope the game is much closer than what you seem to imply.

At some point, when are we going to STOP playing stupid. Every game, the theme is, we just made this mistake and that mistake, and maybe that's why we're not a serious contender. Because we're not good enough NOT to make critical mistakes.

You're fooling yourself if you think Arizona would be able to go toe to toe against us or it would be in "their favor" with Romo healthy. Weeden absolutely cost us this game.

This is the kind of post I'm talking about @Idgit.
