I do agree with the thinking. Why does he owe it to anybody to hand out free cash?

Because he makes money because of the fans. Why is it wrong that they make money on his autograph!

I dont have a problem when players do this at those sport shows where you pay to get in and know you will have to pay for an autograph. But to do it at a mall is kind of cheesy.

I'll tell you who he is: he's the former QB for storied Notre Dame (Does that mean "Northern Woman"?}

And, hey

Have you seen his honey?

Her root jobs and makeup must cost at least $10,000 a month and last I hard Quinn was not signed

He's just trying to make some quick cash

Give him a break

I say with that autograph money he should buy him an Italian suit and get him a higher-rent gal, IMHO
:)

lets notr forget the extentions.... Brady's hair is longer than hers!!!

I think you are getting half the story here. That's probably the price of whatever company is sponsering his appearance there to sign autographs. They pay him for appearing, then fans pay them the money to have the items signed. He is basically under cantract and is not allowed to sign for free at this appearance. This is happens all the time with many athletes.

that's the part i was wondering about. if SportsCompanyA hires quinn for the event, they make the rules of engagement, *not* quinn.

amazing how many people are quick to bag on someone w/o even wondering if there are other factors at play.

And he does not know the rules up front?

Come on.

I mean he could insist on autograph free, but any memorabilia autographed would have to come from the vendor.

People do amaze me.

I've seen at least a dozen other rookies signing cards for a fee this year but they don't generate the hate.

It's likely the vendor that insists on these fees. Brady isn't getting a cut.

I can understand the hate. It's the same hatred many people have for the Dallas Cowboys. Notre Dame gets it, as does anyone from Notre Dame. Especially Quinn. It's ok though, as it tends to be the same six or seven knuckleheads on this board promoting their agenda. It means little or nothing...just a lot of chest thumping and high fiving.

Just your regular ol ND hate. If Quinn had been from just about any other school you would hear NOTHING about him at all.

I don't hate him, I never thought he was that great to begin with but I don't hate him.

He has a choice guys, accept the engagement or not. Just go sign your contract in your slot and get on with it.

If he had performed better in big games he would have been a top 10 pick. He did not and therefore, he has to go out there and prove it.

That kind of money for a rookie signing is ridiculous and he should be ashamed to be in an engagement that requires it and people should be embarrassed to spend the money for it to.

I don't care who it is, I am never paying for someones signature!

Same ol same ol. He was graded out as a top 10 pick by all but a few clubs. AS much as you do not like that FACT, live with it.

But was not drafted until the 22nd pick. There are things people say and then there is the way it is. Quinn heading into the 2006 season was talked about as the 1st player that would be taken in the draft or at the very least the 1st QB taken and neither happened. What did happen is he feel to the 22nd spot and had a deal not been done with Cleveland chances are he falls to the 23 pick.

Not in NFL contract negotiations, it doesn't.

If Quinn's people are trying to say they want top 10 money because Kiper, et al said he was a top 10 pic... he is looking at a very long holdout.

Well, there is only so much money in the rookie pool and Cleveland is holding the cards. Quinn, not signed would fall to the second round next year IMO and make even less money.

He better pony up to the table, get a few incentives in there and sign the deal!

Quinn's people are asking for top 10 money because some moron in the Brown's organization said they had him graded in their top 8...end of story. There has been a precedent set for this. His agent is doing his job...yet another thing Quinn has little control over but will get hammered for.

That's exactly what I'm thinking too. They need (for Cleveland's sake) to just take what's due in his slot and go. They won't though, because of the situation and the position he plays. That's good (for Dallas' sake),
