I think that the Joneses finally accepted that they are bad at their job.

So they wont do anything more to prove otherwise. They gave up and let things just roll.

Acceptance is bliss. You cant try to be someone you are not over such a long time. It takes a toll (chronic alcohol abuse, baby moma abuse etc). Just accept who you are: Takes so much pressure off of you.
